  1. I think Stone comes off as intelligent because he's smug and was next to Harry forever ( and now Hawk)Plus he was broadcasting for most of us when a lot of us were young and we didn't know better.
  2. Even eyeball test wise I'd say zobrist's range is meh and his arm isn't great and obviously Soler had issues other than that i can't say I've noticed too many problems with Dex or bryant.
  3. I love how Stone says stuff and is so sure of himself and he's way wrong. I tend to think pretty highly of Stone. I mean, how good is our team defense? We have some studs for sure, but we're also pretty mediocre in some ways. Fowler is average at best in center, Bryant and Zobrist are pretty "meh", and let's not even talk about left field. I'm not going to pretend to know/understand the metrics behind it but fangraphs had indicated that our defense has been very good.
  4. If we continue to work pitch counts and we have series going 5,6,7 games those late games against worn out bullpens could be fun.
  5. I think this is the most fun sports team I've rooted for.
  6. I love how Stone says stuff and is so sure of himself and he's way wrong.
  7. We're 8 games up now. We may practically clinch by the end of May
  8. I'm more fascinated by Zimmerman constantly failing in these situations than by harper walking
  9. Zambrano said he still likes the Cubs. I feel like he'd be fun on this team.
  10. I was just thinking today about how boring the padres are and how i don't think I've ever cared about them.
  11. I wish the answer was no because were so good and I'm horrible at math but i didn't see how
  12. I have to imagine things like our approach and maybe pitching helps us be more consistent but a short series is still a short series and this is still baseball.
  13. These celebrations have to be a little awkward for AAA guy who won't be here next week.
  14. It's hard to hate a confident player who is clearly having the time of his life out there.
  15. I love that fans are starting to hate us because we're good And not just because the fanbase can be seen as annoying. Watching cardinal fans and others complain without even able to throw "1908" at the Cubs would be even better. But this is so great. Too bad the playoffs are a stupid crapshoot
  16. It'd be cool to get to 100+ wins because this team hasn't won 100 since the 1930s, but beyond that...I'd almost prefer if they just rest dudes down the stretch even if 116 is within reach. Not everyone will agree with me, and thats fine, but that's proooobably how I'll feel once everything is wrapped up in late August. EDIT: Baez with his finger in the air is now my work computer's background, thank you Banedon I want 120 wins and a dominating world series run. I want to smash the lovable losers moniker for good.
  17. This year might have the most meaningful Cubs-Sox series...ever? I mean...as much as an interleague series can be. The world series will be pretty meaningful.
  18. If we play in the playoffs will Harper have an official AB?
  19. Knowing that worse case we're 23-7 makes me not care much.
