  1. I know it was sarcasm, but Ramirez actually is. he has hit the ball hard once in three trips. Off of a guy who couldn't pitch on my slow pitch softball team. Twice, one happened to hit DeRosa, that ball was still hit hard. EDIT: .333 BA isn't bad last time I checked I believe it's actually a .666 BA. So true forgot it counted as a hit.
  2. :P He looks like Lee except Lee looks at strikes haha.
  3. Getting called out for no reason on a post that was baseball related.
  4. was that necessary? Was you calling me out necessary? More necessary than saying what you said. Get over it, thanks.

  8. How did old man Griffey not break his knees yet?
  9. I wasn't paying attention, was the donation to the Floyd family or to the hospital? I find it ridiculous if it was to the Floyd family.
  10. Well we're obviously not going to sway eachother's opinions... let's be adults and just agree to disagree and hope for a Cubs win!
  11. Ahh I wasn't aware that my voice has a volume on the internet.
  12. That would be bad simply because in the long run, your inferior hitters are going to get more plate appearances than your good hitters But the argument is "LINE UP ORDER DOESN'T MATTER IT'S BEEN PROVEN" because the hitters will produce somewhere else in the line up. I know it's bad but some people are to stubborn to admit it.
  13. because Ramirez would still be batting somewhere in the order, so his contributions will be there regardless of where he bast So you wouldn't complain if the batting order was: Murton RF Pitcher P Jones CF Kendall C Ramirez 3B DeRosa 2B Soriano LF Lee 1B Theriot SS Please honestly answer me that.
  14. people have proven that lineup order has little affect on outcomes of games Not to mention that why people have been saying this, Theriot has been terrible lately before today: Here's his August line: .288/.306/.339 And here is his last 7 days: .250/.241/.286 Both of those are coming into play today. stop ruining Cynosure's perceptions of reality! So show me your 'people' that have proven it doesn't matter who your leadoff hitter is. Bill James has pretty much proven that lineup order doesn't matter. Line-up order doesn't matter? Yea right! That's false, I can see the logic in the lead-off batter not mattering as much. But what you said is 100% completely false. You have to protect your best hitters, and that is a fact. As long as you bunch up the good hitters, you're fine. Nothing else matters. NOPE that's not what he said... he said it's been proven LINE UP ORDER DOESN'T MATTER that says nothing about bunching up the good hitters.

Why is it fact, because you say so? Its been proven by Bill James what is so hard about understanding that? Oh so tell me... it would be just as logical to bat Cedeno behind Lee as it would be to bat Ramirez behind Lee... are you dense?

Case and point to shut this one down: You have Ramirez or Cedeno behind Lee... They will walk Lee to get to Cedeno. They would never walk Lee with Ramirez behind him, come on, think.
  17. I'm not gonna start an argument in the gamethread, I'd be interested to read it. But I don't see how it has no affect. Maybe not on one specific game, but simple logic leads me to believe that over the course of a season if you have a lead-off hitter that gets on base more than someone else, that it has some affect over the season.

  19. Great job DeRosa. Time to get the lead taken away now.
  20. Your leadoff guys will have multiple more at bats per season than the top 3 of your order. If your leadoff guy can get on base ahead of the clean-up/5th hitter that's extra runs and could equal 1-2 wins a season. As we look at it now, that could make or break the NL central.
  21. people have proven that lineup order has little affect on outcomes of games That's completely false.
  22. Wow DeRosa manages not to suck again!
