    Unfortunately my FSN is blacked out here so I can only listen to the the commentators on "Superhomer: WGN." Len and Bob aren't homers. I think they are, but we're not going to get anywhere arguing this so I'll stop. Every team's announcers are homers. I think Len and Bob for sure have their homer moments, but what do you expect? I never understand the "homers" argument when it comes to local broadcasters. They're broadcasting the games to an audience mostly made up of fans of the team. Shouldn't they try to cater to their interests? Now some guys (Hawk Harrelson) go overboard, but what in the world is wrong with local announcers being homers?

I guess I can see the idea to call guys in, ask them who their suppliers where, blah blah blah, but it seems like ESPN makes such a deal out of it maybe its ESPN i have a problem with Well ESPN makes too big a deal about everything. However, this is an important story. Baseball has to clean up the HGH problem, and to do so they need to find out as much about it as they possibly can. Matthews has some knowledge of it, so they need to get whatever information they can from him.

    Did you see Steve Trachsel's performance? We also have about 10 guys down in the pen. Not the whole thing, I've had the game on but have been doing other things too. I guess his performance wasn't as good as the box score indicated (not that it was great)? As I said earlier, it's the worst 5 inning, 2 ER performance I've ever seen.

    Ya know, when Hendry made the Trachsel trade I tried to rationalize it in my mind every way I could. "We didn't have to give up too much." "Well, he's been pitching well lately, maybe he can help out down the stretch." "I guess it would be good if Marshall got a rest." But forget all that. It was just a stupid, stupid trade. I can't possibly fathom why he is on this team.

    What was he saying? He said these kind of races are fun for fans because every game counts and the hard work makes it more rewarding if your team wins. I, on the other hand, would be thrilled with a 15 game lead right now.
