I was hoping for Acuña this series. Today's the "deadline" day.
  2. Southpaw19
Same, but also Javy has hit 3hrs since this so it's woefully outdated I publish the scoreboard weekly. Usually Monday mornings.

Still lots of ties, but I'm not going to delay further. Scoreboard is being assembled this morning and will be up before lunchtime.

I'm going to Milwaukee today... no Rizzo, no Baez. Meh... Either way, Go Cubs!
  6. Southpaw19
I will be posting the first scoreboard one week from today. It's too early with way too many people tied at the moment.

ah horsefeathers can i trade out seager for olson? PM'ing WC now. Sure, why not. I'm still in a good mood. ;)

    My bad.
  10. Southpaw19
I don't know whether to feel excited or depressed over having a unique WC pick If they hit a lot of HRs; you'd feel excited. It would move you up the scoreboard because no one else has that player.
  11. Southpaw19
    Melky or Miguel ?
  12. Southpaw19
I'm okay with this ... and even if they duplicate a WC pick ... there's enough parity to allow another repeat. Originally I set the deadline as it was, to give me time to setup the scoreboard, but I've kept on top of it pretty well.
  13. Southpaw19
Not one person picked Shohei Ohtani... interesting.

2018 Wild Card Selections If I got your pick incorrect, it is most likely correct on your team. I just may not have updated my WC pick tab on the spreadsheet. Either way, let me know. Messages also stay in your Outbox until the recipient reads it.
  16. Southpaw19
You need to pick another Wild Card -- it cannot be a player in Groups A through D.
  17. Southpaw19
IF we don't get any additional entries before the deadline on Wednesday, we will be at 20 participants. That is where we were the last two seasons ... so yay for consistency... ? EDIT FOR MISCOUNT (and then edited again to add new entries) :: 21... 22... 23 we're ahead of 2016 & 2017!! :clapping:
  18. Southpaw19
Gotta admit, was feeling a little special when I opened my private messages. Then I saw this. #-o I hope that doesn't deter you from playing! All of our participants are special! We need players! I want this to be a bigger community and fun to be had for all!
  19. Southpaw19
Between last night and today, I audited years 2006-2017 in order to try to recruit former players to come back for the 2018 season. 34 Private Messages were sent. Let's see what happens. Fingers crossed.
  20. Southpaw19
No one laughed... I asked every mod via PM (and Tim) ... and it never happened.
  21. Southpaw19
Interesting factoids... in 2006, the Derby had a whopping 57 participants. The last two seasons (2016 + 2017) had 20 participants each year. We currently stand at 16.

UPDATE: 2013 Controversy Averted Top 3 finishers in 2013 stayed in the same position There was some shifting of the final scoreboard but nothing in the Top 3. The reason I came across this, is I'm adding more information about past seasons to the HR Derby Wiki.

HEADLINE: Potential 2013 Controversy Southpaw19 is leading the investigation; glavine93 might lose their title. CHICAGO, IL -- While going through archived information, Southpaw19 came across an oddity for the 2013 stats in the Home Run Derby. The last date recorded was August 25, 2013. The problem is MLB doesn't end in August. In fact, in 2013 the regular season ended on Sunday, September 29, 2013. Was there a file storage glitch? The 2013 HR Derby topics are not active and not accessible. Was the final scoreboard ever posted? What happened in 2013?! Why is there a cover-up? Southpaw19 vows to find the truth! Seriously... does anyone remember what might have happened here? I'm going to update the statistics and see if glavine93 really won or not.
  24. Southpaw19
Just so everyone is aware... even though I haven't responded to the PMs, I have received all WC Entries that have been submitted. I will list them all out, once the deadline passes.
  25. Southpaw19
I've extended the deadline on the Wiki page. The deadline for posting is 11:59:59 PM Central Time on Wednesday, March 28 2018. No entries will be accepted after the deadline.
