  1. I thought a strain was just a pull. A pull is a tear. When you pull or stretch a muscle too far, there are micro tears in the muscle fibers. Every time you lift weights you have micro tears in your muscle. Isnt it something like the lifting tears the existing muscles causing new muscle to generate and thats how it builds?
  2. The mighty Red Sox are no match for this star studded Cardinals lineup.
  3. Lets all hope for early Season Marquis vs. 2007 Contreres.
  4. This would be a perfect time for some good news about Big Z. Go Red Sox and Orioles!
  5. The Chicago Cubs would like to welcome back Derrek Lee, Aramis Ramirez, and of course our old friend Mr. W., and I dont mean Kerry.
  6. Blow Cobs Blow Blow Cobs Blow Hey Chicago whadya say Cobs might get a run one day
  7. If we had to go through a point were we play absolute gutter ball, I suppose this is a better time than August or September.
  8. We need Edmonds and Johnson STAT. Our lineup really doesnt look any better than the Cards right about now.
  9. Would Lou ever consider tweaking the 3-4 spots? It seems like every other lineup spot has been played with, but Lee and Ramirez remain untouched. Look what happened when Ozzie removed dead weights Konerko and Thome out of their 3-4 spots.
  10. I wonder if the "heart of our lineup" can make anything happen.
  11. If we want to make this happen this year, go for Harden or even Blanton. Granted, we'll have to mortgage the future, but oh well.
  12. When the Sox decide to start hitting, they cant be stopped, so if our guys cant get their bats out of their anuses, we could be looking at another sweep.
  13. Plus, you cant over estimate the NL Central The Cards have had some luck, but the wheels seem to be falling off, plus they have six away games at Boston and Detroit. The Brewers are looking decent, but after Sheets, the pitching staff is as inconsistant as they come. How long can Branyan, Kapler, and Torres can keep it up? The Reds should be better than they are, but they're just falling further and further into oblivion. The Astros dont have a pitching staff and the Pirates are the Pirates.
  14. Why bother putting your hottest hitter in the lineup. Gotta work Cedeno in there somehow.
  15. Please no more if Z needs to miss significant time talk. For now lets live and die by the DXL of 15.
  16. The estimate is $1M lost for 15days of Z. So why are we freaking out and talking about him being out for the season? That seems very low. So he misses 3 starts instead of 1 or 2. As long as we play .500 ball during that time period, we'll be fine.
  17. Not to say I told you so, because I pray I'm wrong, but... Dude, stop posting. You are bumming me out! What is DXL, and is 15 a good one or bad one?
  18. Too bad hes never done anything at the major league level to prove hes worthy of sniffing Zs jock strap. That 3.92 ERA in 2007 should've gotten him optioned well before he could do that much damage. I really don't get the anxiety over the arthrogram. It's the logical decision. Is there any reason not to do it now that they've already decided he won't make his next scheduled start? If they still wanted him to make his next start, which would seem unnecessary, then the injected dye would be an issue. But as it is, why not do the most comprehensive testing? Were Cubs fans, And I dont know if you were being sarcastic about the 3.92 ERA, but if we werre talking about replacing Marquis, that would be fine, but this is our ace were talking about. A guy who has spent the last 3 years up and down and bveen inconsistant isnt going to replace that.
  19. Too bad hes never done anything at the major league level to prove hes worthy of sniffing Zs jock strap.
  20. Our GM may not have any idea how to put together a team for the future, but he knows how to build for the now, and he genuinely wants to win this thing this year. If Zambrano does end up needing to miss any amount of time, he'll be on the horn with Oakland, Toronot, Cleveland etc. by this afternoon. Granted, Zambrano is irreplaceable, but even with a Harden, Blanton, or Burnett filling his spot, wed still have the best pitching staff in the division by a long shot.
  21. Chirst, do you have his house on surveilance?
  22. just keep the updates coming. I'll have this minimized on my screen all day.
  23. I had no idea Johnson led the NL in avg. with runners in scoring position.
  24. Last year Lilly was the guy who was known for stopping the bleeding. Hopefully he can do that today. Will they be able to work Hoff into the lineup? Lous usually all about the hot pony.
