  1. DeRo just said on the radio that he has the day off (was suppose to be off yesterday but had to come in because of Ward's injury). He predicts that Fox or Moore will play 1B.
  2. I think Moore got the call because he's replacing a LH bat and he has power.
  3. Kind of a surprise that Cedeno didn't get the first call.
  4. FYI, Bruce Levine says that the injury to Ward could be serious enough to jeopardize most of the remaining season for him. He may be DL'd tomorrow.
  5. Braves killing the Cardinals 10-0 in the 4th
  6. Bonds joking that he might take 3 more days off before playing again. :x :x
  7.  yeah right. They are always kissing his butt. They lost, we won and that's all that really matters.
  8. Arizona's numbers against Marquis don't look as good as I thought they might-of course, they haven't faced him much, and Hudson and Jackson do have 1 home run each. Byrnes and Tracy, the two Diamondbacks that have faced Marquis the most, are a combined 1-20 against him with 3 BB's. The other side doesn't look good at all. Ward has a triple and a HR against Webb, but he might be out. Lee is suspended. Aramis is only 4/18 with 1 HR against him. Floyd is only 4/15. DeRosa is only 1/9. It's going to be really tough to score runs against Webb-the Cubs have to be patient and try to score runs off the Diamondbacks bullpen. I'm hoping Marquis pulls a surprise party and pitches well (like he did to help us win that Brewers series). The good thing is the D'Backs have a bad offense. I know they are at or near the bottom in hitting with RISP.
  9. I hear what you're saying but part of me says 'why not?" I know Jake Fox isn't some blue chip prospect but it seems like other teams (like the Braves) bring up guys, who aren't sensational, to help them win. Ultimately, the Cubs may need to trade for a bat but Jake Fox might be able to hit ML pitching (his problem has been defense). I can't wait to see how it plays out.
  10. This is today's winning post. PM your address and I'll get the Tom Goodwin card sent to you. What was this in reference to? Bonds was 0-5 against Ohman before today.
  11. Lou said Cliff came out because he was dizzy so he might be good to go tomorrow. Ward may have tweaked his calf muscle.
  12. Klesko out 6-3 Cubs Win! Cubs Win! Cubs Win! Hell yeah, it was a hard fight but they got it done! :D
  13. Len likes to press the panic button. IMO, Floyd and Ward are fine until we hear otherwise.
  14. Wow, this is the most worrisome Cubs game I've watched in over a month and a half.
  15. Jacque with 4 hits and the second today against a LHP.
  16. Fontenot walks come on Jacque Jake Fox on deck
  17. Those would have been balls to Bonds. the pitches to bonds were more strikes than those, no question. Apparently in their preferential treatment of bonds, the umps forget that there's actually a team in a playoff race here. Ala Jordan pushing off vs the Jazz to hit the game winning shot? There's no doubt in my mind that MJ got all the favorable calls. It was a push off but in that case MJ was pretty slick about it and the refs weren't in the best position to see the infraction. Plus, the NBA has an unwritten rule about swallowing their whistles in the final seconds of big games... Those pitches to Bonds were blatantly in the strike zone and the ump didn't call them. His strikezone is a postage stamp!
  18. Yeah, if our guys take care of business the Roidman wont come up to bat again.
