  1. In fairness, the first inning was very uneventful. Piazza and Buck hit him hard in the second inning.
  2. Double by Travis Buck ties the score at 1
  3. Piazza drilled a single off the wall. Sounds like it would have been a double for a better runner.
  4. Nope, the announcers have given no indication one way or another. They only made mention of his injury history.
  5. I hear Ronny Wickers has made it to the park...
  6. Miller had a smooth first inning. I hope his second inning goes just as well; I think it might bring the best out of Mark.
  7. Theriot out Ronny Cedeno homers on the first pitch.
  8. The answer depends on how the rest of Spring Training progresses. If all of the likely starters (Z, Lilly, Hill, Prior & Marquis) are healthy, and Miller proves to be healthy as well, I think the Cubs should trade him. However, I can see reasons why Hendry will wait. If Wuertz's soreness is more serious than initially thought, they may choose to shut him down for a while and stick Miller in the bullpen as insurance against an injury with Prior or someone else on the staff (they may choose this option even if Wuertz and Novoa are both healthy because they still have options). The way I see it, Hendry may be very reluctant to trade away a healthy pitcher because he's been caught short-handed too often over the last few seasons. It's a good problem to have... The more I think about it, the more surprised I'd be if Hendry trades a healthy Miller in ST. He will probably want to see a few, Regular Season, starts from Prior before making a decision. If everything goes well, I could see Miller being traded by May.
  9. And this is news worthy? Should be his goal every year. It is because he said it... We all know that many people won't voice it because they become targets. The Cubs are going to be higher profile than usual this year as it is... He siad he'd win the CY last year and the media kept bringing it up.
  10. I'm not gonna argue with him. I kinda wish he wouldn't say it but that's just me... Actions!
  11. The Score is reporting that Big Z said, today, that he's going to win the Cy Young and the team's going to win the World Series.
  12. Murty had a 2-RBI single and now Epatt with a 2 run homer 9-6 LAA
  13. Keep your eyes on this kid. He's gonna be good. 8-) I was gone. Is that Kerry Wood in the game? NM, must be Sean Gallagher
  14. There seems to constantly be a TX or Oakland connection to these enhancement drug stories...
  15. Good point. It would be just like the Chicago media to start that story too. There's a comment about it in the Trib today... Sullivan asked DeRosa for a comment. Last week, Mike North had an interview with him where he tried to insinuate that "some people" might suspect him because of his career year. Also, Mike Murphy brought it up today on the radio as well. I hope it isn't true. I especially hope the media doesn't turn it into a witch hunt without any proof. No distractions!
  16. Well, the connection to Hairston wouldn't really help-Hairston didn't come to the Rangers until DeRosa was already having a career year. I'm talking about Gary Matthews, Jr
  17. My fear is that DeRosa might be caught up in this between his career year and TX connection... I don't want ANY distractions for this 2007 team. I also hope the local media people don't start speculating without any proof.
  18. LMAO, that served him well Hmmm, someone needs a refund! I bet he did it to heal from his various injuries...
