12 pitchers is a luxury and Ohman has been the weak link. If he pitches well in Iowa he'll be back. I like that Lou wants to play the people who produce. If Ohman goes down to Iowa, he'll never come back-because he will be on another team. I think the team would have to send down somebody else-no use in exposing Ohman this early. Guzman could go down, get a start in the minor leagues, and be ready to replace Miller if needed for example. Ohman can still be optioned. -

ESPN AM 1000 is reporting that the MRI revealed no tear.

Lou said this yesterday; that he spoke with Sori to make sure that CF wasn't holding him back on offense. Soriano assured him that it wasn't... I think Jones' days were numbered all along.

S & R on ESPN AM 1000 are Cubs bashers. Mully and Hanley (one Sox fan one Cubs fan) on, The Score, are Bears and Bulls beat writers; they know as much about the situation as we do. lol

Fox and ESPN national games are all restricted access (the games are not available live but can be viewed once they are archived). Blackouts are also geographical. Okay...So I'm from Chicago so are all home games blackout for me? Do you live in the Chicago area? If so, you will be blackedout because MLB is encouraging you to watch the game locally. There are ways to get around the restrictions... I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'

That's what a callup for an injured player is, a kick the tires situation. I don't think people are guaranteeing superstardom, rather they are expressing excitement to see a very talented player on the team. I hear the under-tone of "boy, hell come up and show himself as a wunderkind and be starting cf by the end of the month" I remember Bobby Hill and the excitement generated by his call up. I hope everyone is right and he is a great hitter and fielder. Pie is not Bobby Hill. Seriously, Pie was going to be recalled at some point. At the very least, he can play tremendous defense. If he is able to add anything on offense it is a plus; I'm sure there will be an adjustment period.

whatever the case, the Cubs will be fine. It's not like Soriano was really helping them win games... I liked that Lou wasn't worried in the postgame show. He made a point to say that "injuries are a part of the game" and gave the impression that it isn't something that will get in the way of this team's ability to win. It shouldn't in the short term but it's nice to hear. Last year, Dusty acted like the world was coming to an end when someone got injured. I think he managed that way too... His "snake bit" act was old.

Probably, but they wouldn't have said "day to day" if there was an idea that a DL trip would be necessary. The Cubs have been really cautious about diagnosing injuries and time off lately (primarily because they've been burned in the past).

CSN showed Sori talking to the media in the locker room. He said he hopes to only miss "5-7 days." I think this MRI is just a precaution...
