  1. Dont laugh yet Roast, the Reds pitching sucks. By the way, who is pitching for the Reds? Arroyo
  2. Dunn singles, 2-0, bases loaded, no outs
  3. Reds load the bases with nobody out, already up 1-0
  4. Griffey with an RBI single, 1-0 Reds...1st and 2nd, still nobody out.
  5. Reds with 1st and 3rd, nobody out in the 1st
  6. Hamilton leads off the Reds first with a double
  7. Braun with the strike em out, throw em out....Gross thrown out at 3rd to end the first for the Brewers.
  8. K... haha what are you watching? The Cubs game?lol Sorry all...my bad
  9. 2 up, 2 down as Theriot grounds out weakly
  10. Soriano with a lazy flyout to get things started.
  11. Just a quick note about the Reds/Brewers -- There are showers and storms about 60 miles west of Cincy...could be a delay in that one.
  12. I really like this lineup a lot -- Cubs win 4-3
  13. With the Brewers being so bad away from home, that's a favorable outcome. But if I had to choose between going to Milwaukee or St. Louis with that much on the line... I would choose to go to Milwaukee in a heartbeat. We always play well up there...we would have a much greater fan support up there...and I just don't want to play anywhere near St. Louis in October.
  14. Papelbon - 1.61 ERA, 75 K/15 walks, .77 WHIP Dempster - 3.88 ERA, 48K/27 walks, 1.28 WHIP. But hey, at least his performance in situations arbitrarily defined by a meaningless statistic is only marginally worse than Papelbons! (Also, let's not mention the two tie games he entered and singlehandedly let get out of reach) no ones saying dempster is as good as papelbon. (Demps ERA is over-represented by the two bad outings). The thing is Dempsters gotten the job done and most of the time out there hes been a quality closer. For a team thats hovering around .500, a spot where the team has been perfectly fine and above average is not the issue. Even when it cost them a game. Sure, he hasn't been Saito-esque, Valverde-esque, Papelbon-esque....but he's been rock solid. If you take out his 3-4 horrible outings, his ERA is likely well under 3....probably closer to 2.
  15. Dempster has been very good this year....he's had trouble in non-save situations, but has not blown a save since June 10th.. How do you complain with the fact that it's been nearly 3 months since his last blown save? Insurance runs would have been nice...
  16. There are a lot of positives to be taken out of today's game, and they've been mentioned already... Basically we're all square heading into the last 24 games....Our schedule is the most favorable...our starting pitching has been very good (with the exception of Z), our bullpen has been solid with today being an exception, and key cogs of our offense are heating up....remember too...with just 7 home games left, and the rest on the road...this may bode well for the Cubs, esp. Soriano who has been DEADLY on the road! Very tough loss today, but all is not lost.
  17. I have to put a little blame on Lou for this as well....there was no need to pitch Demps last night.
  18. Even if the Cards lose...we still lose our sole posession of first.
  19. I refuse to put this all on Dempster....13 straight saves, .195 opponents BA??
