  1. I'd still like to know what the hell he was thinking walking Durham in from of Bonds
  2. There shouldn't be. He's been our best player for 3 years. Best position player. I'd argue Big Z as the best Cubs player though during that time period. Zambrano wasn't acquired via a trade though was he? He was aquired from Venezuela for an 8 ball.
  3. There shouldn't be. He's been our best player for 3 years. Best position player. I'd argue Big Z as the best Cubs player though during that time period.
  4. Again, why walk Durham! You start using your head Ted!, that's that lump 3 feet above your ass!
  5. WHAT KIND OF IDIOT WALKS DURHAM WITH BONDS ON DECK!
  6. We'll just pretend that's what they're paying Theriot to actually be somewhat useful at SS. I wouldn't have had a problem with paying 6/3 of Izturis' remaining contract. Sometimes it's just better to pay someone to play for someone else than to continue playing him on your own team. I don't get it... why would Selig allow this and not the Jacque Jones deal? Selig didn't shoot down the Jones deal, Hendry did. I thought Selig/MLB shot down the money part of the deal because he didn't want the Cubs racking up more debt as they went on the market? Not trying to pick on you...but the $$$ to Jones is a sunk cost...trading him does not add any debt whatsoever, I don't know why folks bring this up.
  7. I'm just glad he is gone...this should free room for Cedeno....let him and Theriot battle for the starting SS job so we can avoid signing another crap veteran SS this offseason.
  8. meh...what is that 1.5-2 mil? Next year is an option year that they can decline right?
  9. Preferrably, but not a must. I'd settle for the ghost of Clemente, to be honest.
  10. The Cubs don't analyze that particular stat. They just don't over rate that stat. Fox has some power and that is what they are looking for. The completely misunderstand and under rate it. It's why the offense has been so weak for so many years. Is it possible to overrate OBP?
  11. The Cubs don't analyze that particular stat. I wish they'd at least analyze age. As a 25 year old in AA, I'd hope he's putting up pretty good numbers. I agree. Personally I think he will get swallowed up in the bigs...but best wishes to him though.
  12. This one was even more indefensible: http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHN/CHN200406100.shtml LOL..I forgot Haren pitched that game...wow that Mulder for Haren deal really is look bad now for the Cardinals.
  13. ohh, if we could dump Izturis on the White Sox that would just make my week! :)
  14. Jim Hendry did last year... I actually didn't mean that as sarcastic as it sounded. I'm legitimately questioning where he may end up. In that case. Houston needs a SS, but they would have to be part of a three way for that to happen I think. Baltimore maybe, Tejada is out for a while. I honestly cant think of anyone else that needs a glove SS at this point. Boston maybe but that is a big maybe on my part. I wonder what teams are under the false impression that Izturis is good defensively?
