  1. We'd still be losing 10-12... Better than 7-15, but I personally don't mind gambling on that play if the potential is 14-12 lead. That's my point. YOU DON'T GAMBLE WITH YOUR BACKUP QB THROWING A SCREEN FROM THE 7 YARD LINE. There are plenty of other plays that make sense on 2nd and 1 that can lead to a TD. Get it?
  2. Exactly....execution wasn't good. That's a difficult pass to make. Not one you ask your inexperienced backup QB to make in the red zone when you are in a position to take the lead before halftime. The Raiders played it well. What can you do? The play is supposed to set up so the TE is isolated. If that happens, there's a great chance to score. What you can do is run a less risky play for your inexperieced backup QB. You are just about guaranteed 3 points. The way this offense is going, you are probably only going to get 2-3 chances to score all game, and you just wasted one of them by making your QB make a difficult throw instead of running it for a 1st down inside the 10. Isn't the fact that they are struggling to score an argument FOR trying to score a TD? What aren't you understanding?

The Raiders have a LB roaming around waiting for screens.
  4. it was a lack of practice and experience. you can't just lollipop that one. How else do you throw a screen pass? That is on Martz, not Hanie. you dont throw it to a guy in the flat with 2 defenders around him. You have to eat that one, or run it yourself I'll say it again, don't throw a screen on the 7 yard line.
  5. Does every one forgetting that there was 33 seconds and only 1 TO? It's not like they were going to pound it into the beacons. Fine, just don't call a [expletive] screen on the 7 yard line.

  7. Martz is beyond an idiot for that playcall. 2nd and 1, right? You don't call long drawn out screens in a short field. Defenders don't have much room to roam, it was a crap call.
  8. Uh, not really sure what you are trying to say.
  9. It's time for some fine wine, and a relaxing end to our weekend. Bear goodness is sweet. What wine? I'm on a Sauvy Blanc kick lately. And Pinot Gris. Acrobat is nice... King Estate produces good stuff. I'm waiting for American Pinot Gris to be the next "soccer mom" choice, cheap moscato has taken over, but is already losing steam.

  11. Screens and outside runs aren't the smatest thing when you are within the 10. Safties and corners are up, there is no room.
  12. Not a fan of Kap, or the fact his "rumors" were completely untrue, but he held his own in that radio stint.
  13. seriously, this is what i plan on doing tomorrow night and it better not get messed up Uh.....Orange Fanta? Purple that [expletive] up, pronto!
  14. http://blogs.dailyherald.com/node/6134 Bruce thinks Z's days with the Cubs are over.
  15. 670 the score has reported neither, they are decent at getting things out quickly.
  16. Every NFL team has at least someone that's decent. That said, I doubt we're getting anyone that good. On twitter, they are saying its literally a player to be named later. I could see us maybe getting a 3rd along with that. I don't think I've ever heard of a PTBNL trade in the NFL. Zach Zaidman said the player being traded is based on a physical. It would never happen, but I'd laugh my ass off for about 48 consecutive hours if the player was Jeremy Shockey. Ha! A player and a pick make me think both are low on the old totem pole.

  18. It doesn't really matter. Most of these guys are like 26-30 years old. If they are signing a 3 or 4 year deal, that's likely to carry them through the duration of their career. Also, even if a guy does this and will need to sign another deal in 4 years when he's 30 years old, teams are going to have a very short memory on this (especially since this is a very unique situation), and they're not going to make that much money at that age anyway. Sorry, I just can't agree with this. You completely ignored the agent factor. Agents don't want the reputation of clients backing out on commitments. Also, teams can terminate contracts and some of these players may be free agents quicker and much younger than you infer. As a somewhat comparable example, when do you think is the next time the Ravens are going to even consider a trade with the Bears (like UMFan pointed out)?
  19. Yep. If a player flip-flops on an agreement, the player and agent have dirtied their reputations. Players can do what Olin is doing, getting offers and determining the best move without ramifications. I would expect almost all (maybe one or two falling through the cracks) reported agreements to be inked on friday.
  20. not yet, workin on it though Good, I look forward to the rant.
  21. How many teams don't out-physical the Hawks? It's not like the Hawks have "bangers". I know, and it bugs me. But some games more than others it's more obvious. Yeah. It would be interesting to see Bickell be on a line where he could do a little more physically instead of being on the 3rd or 4th lines where they are looking for him to score. Kopecky tries, but he's more of a gnat than anything else.

  23. You don't know of the brilliance that is Mike Milbury? The guy is a complete ass and will take the other side of the argument just to take it.
