  1. It was great wasn't it? he got jobbed by the ump, but i'll take it The way he reacted to the previous strike called he should been gone anyway, cussin towards the ump like he did....a wins a win, i'll take it =D>
  2. I just can't stomach the fact that he will be any part of this team. He disgraces everything Cubs when he puts that uniform on :blackeye: I don't dislike alot of players per say but he is one of them at the very top.
  3. Not as absurd as the size of your sig pic, wow I dont have a sig and 7000+ posts is absurd....especially for Brian Roberts....
  4. They had a better record than us, and are smokin us at the moment. Oh and won what...5 or 6 more games than the Cubs.
  5. Pulling Z is lookin better and better. Least he will be fresh for tomorrows game...................
  6. I think that's the problem. Too many of our guys know that they're taking a big pay cut by playing in the playoffs. :) :D
  7. The D-Backs have the pitching, hitting and defense at the right time. The Cubs meanwhile are just pathetic in every aspect of the game and pretty much deserve what they get. Eveyone in the world talked of the "inexperience" and the "youth" of the D-Backs....well maybe the Cubs could learn a few things from them instead of playing like complete crap. Livan threw 95% of his pitches of the outside part of the plate to both left and right hitters.....yet we try to pull everything. Sad, sad stuff. 300 million just doesnt get ya what it used to I guess.
  8. So....you would rather hear about Prior throwing than the Cubs making the post season?.......you need a check of the head
  9.    I needed something like that today, thanks \:D/
  10. Singular in one clause and plural in the other. Fred, Fred, Fred. I'm a very cunning linguist, no ? Did Fred just say, "cunnilingus!" I was beginning to think nobody was going to catch that one. I figured Vance would be the first one to catch it
  11. Respectable to me is a very bad goal to set. Respectable reaks of mediocrity, and appreciating respectability is akin to accepting mediocrity. Even if they finish 82-80, what would be a strong finish, this season would be a disaster. You can't just judge a season based on how you play the last two months. Games in April, May and June count, even though the Cubs often downplay the risk of losing lots of them. A "respectable" finish to 2006 is only going to mean sustained mediocrity, which is going to keep this team locked into the cycle of mediocrity that has plagued them for so many years. He's just saying the same thing your Sig says... I know, and my inclusion of that line (Dusty said something like that several weeks ago) is a sarcastic reminder of how pathetic this team is. They aren't a threat for world series contention, this year or anytime soon, because all they want to do is contend within the division and make it respectable. Oh, I agree 150%, it was just there

  13. I'd understand next season if they were out of contention, but this season seems pretty odd. It's not like Houston is a legit contender. They are 3-7 in their last 10, and closer to the Cubs in the standings than the Cardinals (both in terms of place and games back). They are 7th in the WC standings and have not improved at all since Clements came on. Plus, Roy could make $15m in his final arbitration year this offseason and the team is really old and in line for a major overhaul (only Berkman and Ausmus are signed through 2007). I thought Roy signed an extension last year with the Astros? Think all he got was a bulldozer
