    Come on. Those pitches aren't even close to the zone. Even if he swings and somehow makes contact with that, it certainly won't be good contact. Corey's been robbed out of 2 ABs.

    Holy cow. Welke is sucking big time behind the plate. Two strikes that were a combined 5 inches inside to Corey. When is this going to stop?

    Theriot should get snubbed from the All Star game every day. He went 3 for 5 with an RBI and 2 RS tonight. Greenberg followed him by going 3 for 4 with a walk, 3 RBIs, and 2 triples. And yes, a very strange line for Marmol. O'Malley got smacked around in relief but picked up the win. Aardsma pitched a perfect 9th to save the 9-6 win.

    Stop talking, Jon. It's just so frustrating that Hendry can't see the obvious here. Sergio should not be in the 'pen. He's a sinker ball pitcher with control issues, for goodness sake. I agree that Mitre doesn't belong in the bullpen. But control problems? I thought one of his strong assets was the lack of bases on balls. His problem is too much contact, and when you are a sinkerballer coming out of the pen, it can be hard to get the necessary downward movement on your fastball to turn that contact into weak grounders. I wasn't so much referring to walks. He seemed to struggle with control significantly the first two months of this season. Yanking someone out of the rotation who's just really getting into a grove with command isn't going to produce great results. Notice I said "issues" and not "problems!" :D
