  1. Please show me how Corey has been unwilling to change lately. There's quite a difference between unwilling to and trying to but not having success. Are you saying Corey is simply not talented enough then? BTW, It's not that hard to shorten your swing. Corey's swing remains one of the longest, loopiest swings in the big leagues---just as it was when he entered the league. To be the leadoff hitter that they tried to make him? That's not where his talent lies. And his swing has changed. In trying to shorten it up, they've seemingly made it less level. If his bat could stay in the zone as much as it did a couple of years ago, he'd be having much more success.
  2. I didn't catch it, what was it? He said to tune in tomorrow to find out. He has to make sure it's okay, though.

  4. Shipman dominates in the 10th, striking out the final two batters after a ground out, and the Jaxx win 4-3.
  5. There's Aunt Florence! Jose Reyes takes a chunk out of the scoreboard and the Diamond Jaxx regain the lead. 4-3 in the 10th.
  6. A disaster 5th inning for Grant. He gives up 6 runs (1 earned). His final line: 4.2 IP, 5 hits, 7 runs, 2 earned, 3 walks, 3 strikeouts, 1 HR And the Jaxx get robbed. Aardsma with a leadoff walk and then hits the next batter who swung around. The first base umpire said that he did not go, so the winning run comes to the plate with nobody out. Hill goes down looking on a "nasty slider." 3 pitches, 1 out. They can't turn two on the slow chopper and the throw from Theriot gets by Micah. Tying run moves up to second as a run scores. 2-out walk puts the winning run on base. Basehit up the middle and the game is tied at 3. Inning over. Free baseball as Aardsma blows the save on just one hit. Marshall's final line: 8 IP, 2 hits, 1 run, 1 walk, 8 strikeouts
  7. Ron may be donating something to the auction. You better jump at it, DJAXX!
  8. Marshall has really settled down after the first inning. He gave up that run quickly but is in a groove right now.
  9. Good game by Kerry and the Cubs. We sure could use a sweep tomorrow and then 3 of 4 against the Pirates.
  10. Barrett sure is looking good at the plate right now.
  11. Ha. Walked Lee to get to Macias...and it bites 'em in the butt!
  12. Ron Potesta: "Carlos Zambrano pinch ran for Greenberg. That's like me running for Carl Lewis."
  13. Oh man. Greenberg went down fast.
  14. Great game by Kerry, especially considering he had a small zone to work with and was robbed of a K on Connine.
  15. Reyes with a 2-run gapper and gives the Jaxx a 3-1 lead in the 5th.
  16. Before anyone starts to go :-k , Ron said later in the game that Grady lives close to Zebulon and is at these games often anyways. But still, :-k ...
  17. Sigh. Ramirez is hurt again. I hope it's nothing more than a sore toe from that foul ball earlier today.
  18. In terms of BAA, just a difference of .007 this year. Jerry! In terms of OBPA, a difference of .103 this year and a difference of .040 in slugging. I doubt Dusty is going to be looking at OBPA and with a runner at second, you need a hit. Couple that with the big disadvantage Hollandsworth has with coming off the bench and that's textbook over-managing to me. We're also carrying 12 pitchers, so we don't need a bench any thinner later on, especially when one of those guys has yet to have a big leage PA.
  19. In terms of BAA, just a difference of .007 this year. Jerry!
  20. Runner at second. You have a good, young right-handed hitter coming up and the pitcher. One is pinch hit for. Who would you expect to leave?
  21. If Matt faces another righty, he could break.
  22. Ugh. See you after the break, Murton.
  23. And Kerry gives up two runs after Montague's mistake.
