  1. What a great game by Maddux. Hopefully he can have a similar second half as he had last season. Murton looking for some revenge here.
  2. Wow. That's great news. Hopefully the date is accurate. On WGN Radio, Andy Mazur said that Nomar could start playing in rehab games as early as another week. And if they really believe that, Cedeno needs to start at Iowa right after the break. No more wasting away on the bench.
  3. Wow. I didn't hear about that. I saw Prior go with Adam into the clubhouse last night, but not that. Very nice of him.
  4. Sorry about that. I meant to quote the last two comments instead of just one.
  5. I'm pretty sure they showed both Greenberg and Murton on the bench earlier on WGN. Yeah, Greenberg is on the bench and in uniform. He went for the tests earlier today. But there's no way he's playing today.
  6. Hahaha. Did everyone see that? Some police were escorting a group of fans out and one of them was holding up a sign for Lee after the HR. The officer then had to tap him on his shoulder to tell him to keep on walking.
  7. Well, the tradition is that Maddux isn't supposed to throw a CG shutout until AFTER the All Star break. If it's a blowout in the 8th and/or 9th, there may be a pitcher that Dusty wants to let work.
  8. I can understand that. Like most of us were complaining, the 12 pitchers. I think that is hurting us more than it's helping us IMHO. As much as they talk about cutting the staff down to 11, I'd be quite surprised to see it happen. And for no reason other than to spite Grieve's OBP.
  9. I doubt Greenberg is available to play today, so with the already short bench, Dusty really can't afford to use up players this early.
  10. Ramirez sure likes that right field line right now. EWWW. That better not have been a Cade jersey in the stands.
  11. You can call it tomorrow, but unless you want to talk to a nice older woman, I wouldn't bother. It's the Cubs' main number (773-404-CUBS).
  12. Woo! Barrett might have been gunned down at the plate if Gonzo's glove didn't slow it down. And a first pitch flyout...yeesh.
  13. I'm a little surprised Montague didn't give him that one. Not that he earned it or it was a strike, but still.
  14. And at least for the moment, there's another blown run. Jerry has to learn how to pick up the third base coach.
  15. Come on. Where else other than the majors could he learn the strike zone, improve on base running, see if he can maintain that power, etc.? I mean, there would have to be some sort of "minor league" where players could get ready. But let's stop living in fantasy land and call the guy up.
  16. I think he was too shocked at being asked to bunt. I can understand that.
  17. You're bunting...with Walker...wow... I almost want to say that's a new low, Dusty. Congrats.
  18. Ugh. Moser made that call from first. That would explain why be missed it...
  19. Wow. That's not even close. Way to blow the call, Layne.
  20. It was a 3-2 pitch, though. If Hollandsworth was worried about protecting Perez, he should've taken the walk.
  21. Just think of how many runs would be on the board right now if they weren't swining at junk in the dirt.
  22. I suppose Hairston at least had an excuse of not seeing two walks in front of him before coming to the plate. Not so much for Burnitz.
  23. Glad to see them take away that second earned run. I was wondering why they charged it to him when all of the runs scored after that 2-out error.
