  1. Eric, Thanks for signing autographs during the rain delay on July 4th. As a promising player at GT, how has the transition from being a student-athlete to a professional athlete been for you? With more time dedicated to playing and training for baseball, have you noticed any differences with your on-field performance? How much more are mechanics and form both at the plate and in the field stressed by coaches in minor league ball compared to college? Thanks and keep up the great work.
  2. Reyes really likes that scoreboard out in right-center. Yeah, so did Ron. Homer...not so much.
  3. Mendez gives up 2 earned in the 9th and that proves to be the difference as the Chiefs lose 12-10. Fuld goes 4-5 with 2 doubles, Eric 3-5, and Harvey 0-5. Nolen takes the loss.
  4. For the second straight game, Jose Reyes has played pepper with the scoreboard to give the Jaxx a lead! Shipman with the 1-2-3 9th and the Jaxx win 4-3! Don't worry, Ron. Homer couldn't even remember the rest of that line: "If ifs and buts were candy and nuts...how does the rest of that go?"
  5. Supposedly pretty decent. 3-3 tie after 8.
  6. Creighton with ties up the game with a gapper to left-center.
  7. I've read that he'd prefer a Cubs hat if he makes the Hall. Is he still a Marlin FO employee? Yeah, he is. Hawk won't have a choice, but the Hall would put him in as a Cub (most likely) if he gets in.
  8. Well, Moore got a fastball up and out over the plate and went to left. Just got under it. Call it, Luis.
  9. Connolly is going to Chicago to have his arm checked out and to see if he should take another cortizone shot. Wisconsin with a late rally against the Chiefs. Eric is 3-4 with an RBI, 2 SB, 1 CS, and 1 PO. Harvey is 0-4 and Fuld 3-4 with a double. Shaver was charged with 5 of those runs.
  10. Nolasco's final line: 6 IP, 113 pitches, 6 hits, 2 runs, 1 earned, 2 walks, 6 strikeouts With Bacon injured and Sing ejected, only Casey remains on the bench.
  11. Monster shot. BTW, Sing was ejected earlier in the 4th inning. What did he do? He argued a call. I missed the details. I guess he had to fill in Dickerson's shoes. 2-2 after 5 1/2.
  12. Chris Moore, eh? Poor Scott. Yeah, you try making two posts at once while trying to beat whoever was going to post after my edit and studying for a midterm.
  13. Monster shot. BTW, Sing was ejected earlier in the 4th inning.
  14. Luis with a solid single to right. He's 1-2 with a HBP and two runs scored. He passed Chris Moore while rounding third. I sure hope he can get an AB...
  15. Apparenly Bacon pulled his groin legging out a triple last night.
  16. Nolasco is over 90 pitches through 5. And Ron, I can't speak for DJAXX, but I doubt that was sarcasm!
  17. Seriously. Why is he batting in the 5th inning of a 7 inning game?
  18. Wow, some real nice items being auctioned Pie autograph bat, Wood autograph ball, 2005 Cubs autograph team ball, Rich Hill shoes, Murton autograph items, and Ron is auctioning off a night in the broadcast booth with an opportunity to do PBP!!! You gotta get that, DJAXX!
  19. How about the orange top and the bright red and white socks??? :D I hope the world team makes him take a licking like the candycane that he is.
  20. I just tuned in, as well, so I'm not sure.
  21. Craig boots a grounder and the runner from second scores. Jaxx trail 2-0 after 4. Nolasco is well over 70 pitches already.
  22. Did they make the players bring their own white pants? Luis' pinstripes with the orange and white uniform top really works well...
  23. Should Futures game talk go in here?
  24. And Murton's revenge for Greenberg comes in the form of a walk. Is that fitting or what?
