ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that Brett Favre has asked for his release. Mort reports that a conference call took place Tuesday, involving Favre, Favre's agent, coach Mike McCarthy, and Ted Thompson. The Packers weren't "openly receptive" to Favre's return, so Favre asked for the letter to be sent, and it was Friday morning. The Packers must now decide whether to take Favre back, let him go, or try to negotiate a trade. Favre doesn't want to be dealt and referenced his history with the team in hoping for a "mutual parting." Favre is using what leverage he has to publicly pressure GM Ted Thompson. We still have our doubts that the Packers will let him go. Source: ESPN.com

Baseball Tonight just took a crap on Erik Bedard.

I know there were rumors of the Cubs being interested, even going back to when he's a Oriole, but if the team has interests in Erik, they need to back out now. I believe Brenly once said, managers loves pitchers who fight them over the ball. Managers loves pitchers who don't want to come out of the game (I believe he made a comment like this, in Z's first start off the DL, when he pull Z, and on camera, you can see Z fighting to stay in the game). And Bedard is the kind of pitcher, who won't fight the manager. So, if the Cubs do indeed continue to shop for another starter, I would stay away from Bedard. Marquis is that type of guy and everyone hates him. Funny how Marquis cant accept the fact he sucks after all these years and being left off playoff rosters. It's like Ok buddy give it up already,your not good . He is just seriously ,a stubborn, oblivious douchebag. Lou knows that for sure and I can't wait till he's off this team. -
