Well the good news is if we don't score this half inning the worst Pujols could do next inning is tie it, so thats good.

Yes he does and I thought the 1-1 pitch to Pujols looked like a strike but because he didn't swing he's getting that umpire thing where they don't call it on him.

Okay I've been known to break a few remote controls wtaching Cubs games when they "accidentally" seemed to hit the wall. I've got a couple of old ones that don't go to anything anymore and I think I might better get them ready for todays game so that I don't have to keep buying new ones for the tv and dvd player, lol.

Actually I think Glenallen Hill did two stints on the DL related to spiders neither of which was while he was with the Cubs tho. -
I actually like this line-up except for Jones hitting ahead of Murton but I like Walker in the 3 spot with Lee out, he's not going to hit homers like Lee but he will get on base and extend innings for us.

Well at the rate their going we won't have anyone with an arm worth a crap by July because their already throwing so many pitches. I agree with you strikeouts are great but you have to throw a lot more pitches per at bat to get a strikeout than you do to get a guy to hit a grounder or pop up on the first couple of pitches.

Thats not too bad but I would move Walker up there is no way he should be batting that low in the order because he's our one guy who is almost always on base or works long pitch counts. He's not really a HR hitter but I would possible move him to the 3 slot ahead of Aram because he's so likely to get on base and extend the inning for us.

Okay one hour until game time, I don't know about you guys but everytime I think about todays game I sigh, I'm ready to watch baseball but am not real excited about todays game because I fear the worst.

Good luck and as a girl I can tell you how is it that it takes so many girls so long to get ready? I mean I can be out of bed showered, dressed, make-uped and out the door in 30 minutes if I have to.

I fear that Jerome Williams yesterday was their appetizers and Rusch will be the main course today, man I hope I'm wrong, especially since I don't think we are going to be scoring as many runs the next couple of months as we were scoring.

Okay so its not my imagination than and it really worries me, it just seems like our pitchers aren't going after guys and putting them away. Of course on an 0-2 count you don't want to just throw a fatty pitch you want to throw something outside the zone and see if they'll get themselves out but it has to look like a good pitch and not be 4 feet off the plate and so far we are just wasting too many pitches, I have never seen a pitching staff who have had SO many 3-2 counts on hitters as ours so far this year and I hate it.

Has anybody else noticed that our pitchers seem to be having problems not throwing a lot of pitchers to the oppossing hitters. Even when our guys pitch "well" and get guys out their having to throw a lot of pitches to do so and they seem to working a lot of 3-2 counts etc. and just are not putting guys away when they get ahead in the count. Maybe its because its early in the year but so far all our guys except Maddux in his last start have been doing this and they've been walking a lot of guys because of it and it concerns me, because I keep seeing our pitchers getting guys in 0-2 counts and then they next thing you know they've walked.

Thanks you just made me feel so much better, I better start drinking now if I want to buzzed and indifferent by the time the game starts.

Okay that was I think our worst game of the year, we had that game where we got blown out by the Reds but this one was worse I think, maybe in part to the fact that it was to the Cards. All teams have bad games so thats not the end of the world, but we don't exactly have our best pitching going this weekend and now without Lee I'm worried that this team will fall apart, but lets hope not. The Cards are always a good team and Pujols and Edmonds are going to get their homeruns but man last night stank.

Hehe good thing all the margaritas and martinis made me a little sleepy because the game sure wasn't anything fun to watch. By about the 3rd or 4th inning I gave up trying not to take a nap and just let myself take a little short disco nap.

Yeah Glenallen Hill was famous for his fear of spiders, and I'll never forget hearing about how he was having a nightmare about them and fell out of bed. He was also terrified of going into the ivy at Wrigley for a ball because of his fear of spiders. -
