    The was the best game ever pitched in the history of baseball. Never have seen anything like that movement in my life. Sad to see him go. Maybe CSN or MLBN will replay that game sometime soon with him retiring?

    lol. Ok. Do you know something we don't? At first I was irritated by it, but I'm kind of tired of Goodell being able to do whatever he wants because he's the big bad comish. Why should I be concerned as a Bears fan that Goodell is going to suspend Marshall even though he did nothing wrong according to the police? Goodell is judge, jury, and executioner. Do I think Vilma did it? Hell yes. But let's see some evidence. Are you arguing that he should be showing evidence to the accused, or to the public? I can understand the former, but I don't think Goodell needs to show jack to the public. To the accused at least. I don't think the public needs to know all the details. The fact that he won't provide evidence to the 'guilty' party and his legal representation is the especially concerning part. I'm actually looking forward to Goodell actually having the evidence to make Vilma look foolish for filing the lawsuit to begin with. I think Vilma's argument is gonna be that he said he'd pay for a guy to go down, but that he was just speaking hyperbolically and never intended to actually pay out. But I don't think that's gonna be enough to prove defamation.

    Here's the deal folks. As long as this stays about the Cubs ramifications of this, we'll keep it open. It's relevant to the Cubs, and it's understandable that people not normally apt to discuss politics would be interested. But if it turns into a political pissing contest, the thread will get locked and further discussion can be had in the politics thread. If you want to talk about the political aspect of this, the political thread will be happy to oblige. I know it's a fine line, but lets do our best to walk it.

    I knew that he was pretty banged up. He had a horrible 2nd half and pathetically bad playoff series. I don't know how much that can be attributred to the plantar fasciitis or the shoulder injury, or whatever injuries he had, but I'm willing to excuse some of the poor play. His foot injury didn't make him pass the ball to Omer at the end of game 6. No, but the '6ers were in his face all series and he showed no ability to get by the defender whatsoever. With a healthy foot you would think he'd have much more quickness and ability to be more of a factor on offense. With a decent offense the Bulls win that series pretty easily and it doesn't come down to that final play. There were so many possessions where he just held the ball until there were a few seconds left on the clock. It's hard to score when that happens. Yeah, my point was that he made some really poor decisions that had little do with any injury. Obviously there was some affects that the injury did have on his game. He's had a few moments, but I've never been a big CJ fan.

    Yeah, there's a good number of reasons to legitimately argue that the Cubs would be better off with a new stadium, but the author just airballed the thing.
