I don't listen to Mully and Hanley anymore. I find them intolerable. But Timonen sure hasn't been good...so it's hard to argue. -

Correct, you can't kick or throw a puck in. It can go in accidentally off of your body, but if it's an intentional motion to direct the puck with your body, it's no goal. -

It is hilarious that Shaw tried to head butt that puck. That is the Shawsiest thing that's ever happened. Seriously though, I only watched through the first OT, but Shaw played his ass off last night. -

I'm being uncharitable with the exact dates, but he has not been doing well with Iowa. Last 2 weeks he's at 60 PA, .185/.237/.296, 18/4 K/BB Fair enough, I was just thinking roster wise, it'd be easy to bring him up for however long you need to until you can bring Szczur back, since he's already been on the big league team this year.

It's poorly worded, but I think the takeaway is that the Red Sox weren't interested in paying for young catchers(read: multiple years of control), when they have multiple young guys who will be great options in future seasons. They wanted a stop gap, and the Cubs were likely not pricing Castillo as a stop gap. i hope i'm wrong, but i expect the return here to suggest the cubs were pricing castillo as a waste of a roster spot. If they were pricing him that low, why carry 3 catchers for a month and a half? Surely they could've ditched him at a low price over the winter. Seems to me they were holding firm on his price.

Yep. I've seen a lot of irrational panic from fans, but this was a series opening road game after 10 days off, where we really dominated the game in every way other than the score. If the rest of the series is played in a similar style, the Hawks will win this. I'm not yet worried. Grab home ice tomorrow night.
