    This is from Foxsports.com, and I'm stunned we haven't heard much more about this if it's true: I know there's a mutiny among some media and some fans...but in the locker room?

    Notes from ESPN. Brown didn't even make the trip to Pittsburgh. Smith told reporters that there is no QB controversy. Kyle won't be pulled after one bad series. Smith did tell Kyle "You have to play better." Kyle repied "Coach, I never have 2 bad games in a row." :lol:

    The NFL fined Tank Johnson $5000 for the "punishing with his weight" roughing the passer call against the Pack last week. The league believes it was deliberate. :roll:

    I can't imagine he misses this game...especially since he's just listed as questionable.

    The Bears win this game....not because of defense...not because of Orton....not because of eating footballs...but because the CBS Sportsline Harmon Forecast has picked against the Bears every single week through the winning streak, and been wrong. They picked the Steelers. Bears win. Orton throws for 4 yards and a TD. (Seriously, I think the Bears can win this. Though I'm scared to death about it.)

    I sincerely don't understand the scramble for a SS. Is there something wrong with starting Cedeno there? If you don't want Walker anymore, fine...why not look for a 2b then? Is it perceived to be easier to get a SS than a 2nd baseman?

    I haven't read every post in the thread, so if this is old info, pardon me... Carrie Muskat updated the Cubs.com article to state that ESPN.com is reporting that Sergio Mitre is included in the deal, and I now find no mention of the Cubs getting a prospect. So it's looking like the ESPN report is probably the accurate one.

    Bruce, I see you're online, and probably reading through this thread I'm guessing...can you tell us where it's a 3 for 1 deal, or is Carrie Muskat right about Mitre not being included, and the Cubs getting a prospect?

    I particularly like that bolded part. :D Nice to hear that he's showing off that arm again. Any bets as to when (if at all) he'll see game action this year? If I had to pick, I'd say the 18th at Soldier Field. I'd just like to point out that Orton looked pretty impressive in the preseason. Real games are a smidge different. Quotes from the preseason: I disagree.. I think it doesn't have to be a bad season. It can be saved if Orton starts. He appears to be a competent QB, and that's all the Bears really need to win. The defense is flat out dominant. All they need the offense to do is take care of the ball most of the time and score a couple touchdowns. He might have a bad game or two, but I think we can count on him to at least have a bunch of average games and a few spectacular ones in between. With Hutch, it's a lost season. But with Orton, there's a shot. Man I miss the search function... :P

    In 2004 Pierre hit .380 in (non-sacrifice) bunt attempts. In 2005 he hit .431 when bunting for a hit. And he hit .276 overall in 2005. So his AVG when he doesn't bunt has got to be simply horrible. Gotta swing away occassionally to keep the infield honest though.

    I'm not all that upset about this deal. I'm not giddy about it either. Just kinda...meh. But then...I don't see a lot of possiblities out there for me to get too excited about right now....

    Here's hoping Milton wasn't listening to AM720. Wow, those clowns all but smacked his grandma in the face. They are horribly down on him. If we get Bradley, the Chicago media is going to be merciless. Boers and Bernstein were BEGGING for Bradley today on behalf of all columnists and talk show hosts in town.
