  1. You gotta work with the information you have man. Quotes and the product in front of us is what we've got. Do you see any evidence that contradicts the "no accountability" theory? Anything? Maybe there is things going on behind closed doors. But we can't base opinions on maybes. Don't you think we've had enough "maybes" as Cubs fans?
  2. I'm not seeing this suspension on Chicagosports.com or ESPN or anything.
  3. All the runs on solo homers today....speed rules.
  4. Welcome to the forum! We actually already have a thread on this topic. Feel free to take a look and reply there. :) Non-Premium Premium
  5. I know this isn't related to Dusty's reaction to the Barrett fight, but I didn't feel like starting yet another Dusty thread for some new quotes I thought were worth posting... Yeah...you've proven how good you are at that Dusty. So the offense being bad is ok, because the pitching is bad too?
  6. I've seen the quote from Hill in several places already. This is the first I've seen the Guillen quote, but I don't doubt he said it. Totally sounds like him.
  7. I'd settle for seeing him win one. here's a fun fact...how many runs have the cubs scored in hill's four losses? 1 (that's combined) pretty sure it wouldn't matter much if hill had an era of 8 or 1...the offense is the problem, not rich hill. It's really convenient to toss that out and then not mention how many runs he's given up in his games pitched this season. Hell, last season, too. Obviously, the offense is letting guys down, but Hill on the mound typically means you need 5-6 runs just to keep it close, almost every single time. He's a useless sack of meat. Greg Maddux: SEASON TEAM G GS CG SHO IP H R ER HR BB SO W L ERA 1986 ChC 6 5 1 0 31.0 44 20 19 3 11 20 2 4 5.52 1987 ChC 30 27 1 0 156.2 181 111 97 17 74 101 6 14 5.61 He turned out ok. Rich Hill will be lucky to end this or any other season with an ERA under 7. Comparing Rich Hill to Maddux is appalling. I'm not saying Hill will be Maddux. I'm saying it's too early to judge that he's a "useless sack of meat".

  9. I'd settle for seeing him win one. Would've been tough without a run today.
  10. Too bad...I was hoping someday down the line to see Carlos Zambrano, manager...
  11. Agreed. It still made me laugh though.
  12. Pierre's career games played: 886 Hill's career games played: 13 Excellent comparison. i know. pierre's actually had a chance to do something on the major league level. Fixed.
  13. HA! Ok that's funny.
  14. Pierre's career games played: 886 Hill's career games played: 13 Excellent comparison.
  15. Maddux is really good with pitching obviously, but do you think he'd be good at the other aspects of managing?
  16. Well if this team can't play .600 ball the rest of the season, it isn't going to make the playoffs. And if it's not going to make the playoffs...again...then changes need to be made. But instead we're sitting our hands, hoping things magically get better, and the "breaks" start to go our way.
  17. Not sure why you would make a thread with the exact same name as another thread only a few down from this one. Anyway, please reply at the links below: viewtopic.php?t=31757 http://www.northsidebaseball.com/PremiumForum/viewtopic.php?t=31757
  18. Hmmm...yeah...that's not true. Sun. 14 San Diego L 9-0 15-22 Hensley (2-2) Hill (0-3) Tue. 16 Washington W 4-0 16-22 Zambrano (2-2) Hernandez (1-5) Wed. 17 Washington W 5-0 17-22 Marshall (3-1) Day (2-4) Thu. 18 Washington L 5-3 17-23 Ortiz (1-4) Wood (0-1) Cordero (4) Fri. 19 at Chicago Sox L 6-1 17-24 Buehrle (5-2) Maddux (5-3) Sat. 20 at Chicago Sox L 7-0 17-25 Garcia (7-1) Hill (0-4) Perspective: The Cubs have 5 wins in their last 23 games...good for a .278 winning percentage.
  19. I won't go so far as to say that I hate Barrett or anything, but I do think what happened today was pretty dumb on his part. It seems like he recognizes that it was though. Apparently he said that he wishes he'd only pushed AJ, and that I could get behind... I just don't think there's any place for out right throwing punches in baseball, unless it's in retaliation. Michael got flattened, and he wanted to make sure AJ knew he didn't appreciate it...great..I get that...punching him was out of line though. And it certainly didn't raise my opinion of Michael.
  20. Ask him when AJ Bobblehead day is, so we can all punch our own little AJ's...
  21. ROFL Neifi is bad. His swings are hilarious. Neifi batting in the 4 spot!!!
