  1. Could bare the fact that you were a Sox fan, but a Packers fan too? That's 2 strikes....I'll be watching closely for the third ;) I hear he's a Knicks fan ;) He also likes the Illini. What an evil trio. Come on Packer fans...you guys haven't beaten a winning team all year, do you really want to go the playoffs? Lame. Yeah, of course I do. None of the 7-8 teams "really" deserve it, but I could not care less. You're telling me that the Giants deserve it? They have been one of the worst teams in the league the last month or so. The Falcons? Once again, another underachiever. The Panthers? That team should've been a Super Bowl contender before injuries caught up with them, and now they have Chris WEINKE as QB. The Rams? They let Noah Herron rush for over 100 yards when we played them. Enough said about them. Of course we don't necessarily deserve to make the playoffs. We were 1-4 and 4-8 in different parts of the season. But if we were able to make it, you would find no complaining from me  Please please please make it to the second round so the Bears can smack Favre around for the 3rd time in the year...that would be special. :) EDIT: Nevermind, you'd have to beat the Bears to get in, and I just can't root for that.
  2. WTF?!?!?!? Dan Shanoff, formerly of ESPN Page 2's Daily Quickie, mentions him as NFC MVP, which is just as ludicrous. How bad do you have to be in order to be fired from ESPN's Page 2? Shanoff was the king of the reactionary bandwagon hopping hype worshippers. And for some reason, he celebrated that fact whenever possible. Oh and he adds this gem: Hello Sean Payton??
  3. WTF?!?!?!? Dan Shanoff, formerly of ESPN Page 2's Daily Quickie, mentions him as NFC MVP, which is just as ludicrous.
  4. The Packers are vying for a playoff spot. Potentially Favre's last game, and the Bears get good ratings.
  5. I thought the same. EDIT: Exception to the rule
  6. David Haughhas an article about how Ron Rivera may go somewhere else as a head coach next year, and how he might begin being recruited as soon as as the first wave of head coaches are cut loose, which could be as soon as Monday. I hope that's not a distraction, though I doubt it would be. Heh....another good blurb from that column:
  7. Putting a crimp in your New Years Eve plans?
  8. Let the insane overreactions begin... The replacement host on Mike and Mike this morning thinks that Jeff Garcia should get MVP consideration.
  9. I can't see losing to Dallas. NO maybe...but really I think the NFC is the Bears' to lose.
  10. With the way the Giants have been playing, that's not exactly asking a miracle...heh.
  11. Dont tell anyone but those are spread pools. Yeah, I'm aware.
  12. Two of the guys on Sportsline.com have the Lions winning in an upset. Peter King has the score 30-7 Bears.
  13. I don't want to create a whole new thread for this, because it's something small that struck me funny, so I'll put it here. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/football/nfl/12/20/bc.fbn.patriots.stubhub.ap/index.html That article is an article about the Patriots and Stubhub countersuing one another over tickets. Patriots say Stubhub encourages scalping which is against state law, and Stubhub says the Patriots are using monopolistic practices. The funny part is that there is a keyword advertisment that is trying to sell me New England Patriots Monopoly. It just struck me funny.
  14. One of Sportsline's "Face Off" questionsis: Which team is more vulnerable in the playoffs, the Chargers or Bears? Pete Prisco says the Bears. Clark Judge says the Chargers. And I'm not sure I like either of their reasoning...lol.
  15. I'd like to see everybody play at least a half of the last 2 games. I don't want to see the injured guys getting 3-5 weeks off before the playoff game. I think it hurt the Bears last year. Good to see Vasher and Todd practiced. I'd like both to get some time this week (especially Johnson). I thought I'd heard a quote somewhere that Vasher thought he was ready to play, but that Lovie was the one keeping him out.
  16. I have to be honest here, if I was a Lions fan I would be fuming right now. Why does Millen still have a job? Has anybody had worse drafts than this guy? He is just plain terrible. Yeah I don't see why this is a bad thing. Sure they've got your money already, but that's not going to change. I'd be looking to do anything that shows anyone who cares enough to notice that I'm unhappy as a fan. That team and franchise has been so bad for so long. I can imagine the fans are just sick of it. But didn't they protest last year? And they suck again... It just is something that hasn't proven to be terribly effective.
  17. Looks like Lions fans are trying to put together yet another protestfor this weekend.
  18. I just emailed Greg Couch about his article:
  19. The moral outrage from the columnists this morning is amusing. Rick Morrissey is comparing this to a kid that made an actual on-the-job mistake getting fired, which isn't the same thing. If Tank was a crappy ballplayer, he wouldn't be on this team...bad guy or not. Greg Couch is comparing it to the NBA coming down hard on 'Melo and company...except again, that was an on-the-court incident, and this all is stuff in Tank's private life. If you're going to be morally outraged, you better be outraged that Ray Lewis, Jamal Lewis, and a gaggle of Bengals all are still playing football too.
  20. It's possible, but I have my doubts. Certainly Jerry has the right to tell a player in Tank's position what not to do when he leaves the facilities. But I really doubt whether they have any authority to actually enforce such rules. It would be insubordination, but, it's probably completely legal (if not justified) insubordination. But I'm sure there's a clause in his contract for something like that. Contracts can be voided for injuries from other sports played in the players free time. Or motorcycle riding, that kind of thing. I'm not a lawyer, so I don't know all the legalities of it, but I imagine that's the kind of thing they're finding out if they can do.
  21. They can't suspend him for the legal issues, but it's possible (and I don't know this for sure) that the Bears could suspend him for insubordination for going out to a nightclub after he was specifically told not to by Jerry Angelo.
  22. Apparently the refs review pager system failedat the end of the game on the Davis catch...they wanted to review it. Also David Haugh thinks thatTank will get another chance, just maybe not this season. Maybe the Bears will suspend him for the insubordination since they can't for the legal matters?
  23. if you listened to what ESPN says The Eagles are going to the super bowl because Jeff Garcia is OMG WTF awesome. ESPN has taken the same position they did with Tony Romo, on its knees right in front of him Eventhough New Orleans lost and the bears won, New Orleans only hit a bump in the road while the bears are terrible right now The bears only have a "decent" defense because they have had poor outings the past 2 games. Hey sean salisbury, dont tell the everyone that we had a pro bowl CB and 1 of our safteys out. The colts that they left for dead last week will destroy any team out there. I didn't hear much of that, but ok. He may have exaggerated some, but I've heard those kind of sentiments from ESPN.
