    This day just keeps getting better and better. First the Cards get Holliday, then Lilly goes to the DL, and now Harang belts a 3-run HR off Wells.

    Someone just posted Fuku's line since moving to the leadoff spot on today's game thread. I still like Bradley in the 2 hole, but leave Fuku at the top. He is OPS'ing over .900 in that time period.

    I was talking to my dad about this while driving back to Texas from Chicago earlier this week (forgive me if this has been discussed on here before). With Bradley leading the team in OBP but really struggling to provide any power at all, wouldn't it be smart to bat him 2nd? Theriot Bradley DLee Aramis Soriano Fukudome Soto Fontenot Would be a pretty good lineup, no?

    Harry I also remember watching an early April game when I was in college. Harry was going on and on about the coffee. It was the best tasting coffee he had ever had. He asked Steve Stone what they put in the coffee when Stoney finally let Harry know that it was tea.

    I would have to disagree. The difference between Soriano hitting a solo homer or a 3-run home can be the difference between winning and losing a close game. And if your leadoff man gets on base an extra time or two, that can be the difference in a close game, as well. Not to mention, considering our pitching, most of our games are pretty close. so batting 1st in the batting order prevents you from hitting 3 run homers? It strongly decreases the odds of it happening. I think it's impossible to argue otherwise. The bottom of the lineup is going to be on base much less often than the top. The lower in the order Soriano hits, the fewer at bats he gets over the course of a season, though. He played 30 fewer games than Soto last year, yet had just 41 fewer ABs. When Soriano is going good it's ideal to get as many ABs from him as possible and putting him at the top of the order does that. So Pujols should be a leadoff man, too?

    Brenly has a point about Bradley not practicing the basic fundamentals of the game, but Theriot obviously deserves the lion's share of heat on that play.
