    A magic number for an American League team is completely worthless because we need the All Star game to mean something. It still would've been worthless before the All Star game "meant" anything. Not if MLB did the right thing and awarded HFA for the World Series based off record, (cue the unbalanced schedule argument)

    Who was the other Cardinal player that died unexpectedly. Was his drug related? I thought maybe I confused him with Chris Farley, but Farley was 5 years earlier (1997). Josh Hancock died in a drunk driving incident years back I think you mean Herbie Hancock.

    I hate that we even have to have this discussion but 108 years is a long horsefeathering time and he's incredible at throwing the baseball. I guess I'll just hold my nose and clap with one hand when he saves a game for the Cubs.
