There's a news story about an arm injury his freshman year, he didn't pitch his soph season in HS. At one point he committed to Fresno State, who described him as a "Tom Seaver" type prospect, but it doesn't look like he ever went there. He also had an offer from Oregon, but ended up going the CC route.
