    Mabry has been charged with 2 errors. There was another ball to open the third inning that Mabry bobbled and was originally called an error, but later reversed and it was called a single. All of the Padres' runs should be unearned. Ouch. And to think we guaranteed his contract. He's a veteran and he doesn't need to compete. ST is for the young.

    Boehringer needs to have a WHIP of under 1 if he wants to make this team this spring. Even if he does that, he has no chance of making this team. Maybe. I'm sure the injury bug will hit someone before Opening Day and a spot will open up. That spot will likely go to either Novoa or Ohman, whoever doesn't make the team otherwise.

    If a team picks up Welly on waivers, he doesn't have to be placed on the roster, does he? Can he be sent directly to AAA by the team that picks him up?
