  1. Potential 12/5 upset as well with Montana on top of Nevada. UW-Milw hurt
  2. I don't know how to judge that. Pitching results in the Cactus League are pretty pointless. The last thing he needs is to be pushed too aggressively. Which, unfortunately, may happen with our glass rotation. IMO a couple months in Iowa would help his confidence but the big league club may need him to come out of the pen at least until Wood/Prior/Miller are ready. I would rather see Guzman at this point as that is the lesser of two evils to me.
  3. I like Hill, but at this point he's not taking advantage of the opportunity in front of him. Certainly not through a lack of effort though. I'm still pulling for the kid.
  4. I tend to agree with you. I hope he stays healthy finally. We've been waiting for this guy to get healthy for what seems like a decade! Guz has been a little wild too this spring and every time I hear anyone within the organization talk about Guzman this year they all say he needs a little time in Iowa.
  5. Game Day Audio down for you guys?
  6. Z then......Z five days later. :(
  7. I'm still waiting for his talent to shine. I mean basically he hasn't shown anything but a above average to great curve ball. I know he's only got 20 innings under his belt in the bigs, but I can't see how in the world you are going to be an effective starter with 1 pitch. He blew Vlad away with two FB's up in the zone.
  8. Walks kill ya. He's gotta have command if he's going to move forward. He followed up a good approach with Vlad with back-to-back hits.
  9. No one has ever said Walker can't hit, but his fielding is very suspect espically with the bad leg. Don't you view him as an more of a American League guy? His leg is fine. Regardless you have to agree his a bad defender... No I don't. I agree he leaves something to be desired, but I don't believe he is bad. He does not lose games with his glove (anymore than most others that is). I tend to disagree. I've seen plenty of games he couldn't turn 2 or couldn't make the easy play. His range is really poor. I just want someone with better range. With a Cedeno at SS you want someone solid at 2nd base. I don't get it. If anything, Cedeno makes the second baseman better.
  10. STEEEEEEEEK on a high FB to Guerrero
  11. Again, against a guy throwing beach balls Neifi makes the last out.
  12. Ramirez 2B 1-0 after a Jones single
  13. Wow very interesting. I remember some time ago that the cubs had a program in latin america that brought in a couple prospects, I think Pie came through the program. Isn't this where Cedeno came from, and Z? It seems like the club would be better off by developing talent in Venezuela, DR etc. The draft is a total crapshoot IMO. For every Roy Oswalt, there are a thousand Ben Christiansen's of the world.
  14. Our pitchers are made of glass. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-060314cubsprior,1,403815.story?coll=cs-home-headlines
  15. What's the point? I was a deprived child And then became a Cubs fan :-k Coincidence? I think not.
