  1. It's Macha. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3672684
  2. Schaub and Plax. I agree about Schaub, though I can see the NY-DAL game being a shootout. I'm tepid about Edwards though because they are facing Baltimore.
  3. Edwards has a tough matchup. And Parker will probably be eased back in, especially with Moore filling in so well. So I can agree with that. At QB: Schaub or Eli? At WR: Edwards or Plax?
  4. We could argue about this all day, but here's my view. You get two points for a win and zero points for a loss. So what do you call it when you get one point? I'll call it a tie. If you're 3-3-3, you're exactly .500. You're right, we could argue about this all day. But my point is, I don't call any scenario where one team gets 1 point, and the other team gets 2 points a tie. It's not an outright loss, but its worse than a tie, especially in any game against a Western Conference opponent. Either way, we've emerged victorious in 3 of our 9 games, which is not a good pace. I agree that it's not a good pace. And I wasn't really calling it a tie vis a vis the team they just played, but in terms of the standings and distribution of points.

  6. Last night was just one of those nights. The bounces didn't go their way. There were times when I felt like Versteeg didn't belong on the ice with Kane and Toews, but I need to remember to be patient with him. Besides, not many players belong on a line with those guys. I also took note of the shoot from anywhere mentality that was definitely going on. Lots of easy saves for Backstrom. The whole point of doing that is you need people in front of the net. Not so much last night. Couple off days now to worry. But remember, we are getting about what we expected. A team that would hover around .500 and challenge for one of the last few playoff spots.
  7. This kind of thing is awesome to hear for someone who has been preaching the virtues of hockey for as long as I've had skates attached to my feet (25 years now). I'm looking forward to heading out for an early dinner and watching the Hawks get some national TV love in HD as well.
  8. You get a point to account in a small way for the "fluky" nature of the shootout. I think it's a good balance.
  9. If you go to a game, would you rather see your team play a five-minute OT, finished tied and get a point, or play through OT, lose the shootout and get a point? You're still getting the one point. The shootout is just a bonus. I don't get the negativity about it. And it is rare. I've been to probably 25 hockey games in the last 2+ seasons (mostly Blues games) and I've seen one shootout. I would imagine the actual percentage is higher than that, but it's still far from a regular thing. And I don't think the shootout cheapens the excitement when a real penalty shot is awarded.
  10. Little national TV action for the Hawks tonight. These conference games are critical, and these type of road wins are necessary for a team that expects to make the playoffs.
  11. He shoots he scores! Johnson? Wow.
  12. It's working, and it's Pat and Eddie. =D>
  13. I have no idea what you're talking about, but I tried the one you didn't send me earlier and it didn't work.
  14. Sounds like the Hawks are flying to start out the second. Handing the Oil their first loss would only add to their confidence right now. Gotta play a solid 60 though.
  15. Wish I could watch this one. My hotel in Iowa is rocking FSN Midwest. So it's Blues vs. Red Wings for me. Might listen online though.
  16. This week is my baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad bye week. A-Pete, Forte, Jennings, Longwell and Bears D all off. So I'm plugging in Morris (hope he's healthy) and LJ (hope he's not suspended - what a piece of Howry). Otherwise I have Ray Rice. Yeesh.
  17. I was impressed with Sopel's defense a bit more last night. And Keith is solid. I don't know why that continues to surprise me. Just a great effort from start to finish. The only downside was Burish getting his ass whipped.
  18. Screw you Fox for showing the Giants post-game. But whatever. Nice job Bowman. What a game. Too bad it had to be so crazy at the end.
  19. Maybe now, finally, Fox will cut to this game. Rams are over, NY Giants are over. Give us this game!
  20. I hate to say it, but I think they need to run it. MN has no TOs, so run and then the punt would take another minute off or so. Leaving them deep with no TOs would be decent.
  21. First Down! Need one more now. Don't give them this ball back.
  22. 4th and 16. Wow.
  23. You should be. If 48 points aren't enough to win though, there's really no reason to think this team will do anything.
  24. GO FOR IT! Does anyone seriously think if they don't make it the D won't score a TD? :D)
  25. I LOVE THIS GAME! Just this one.
