  1. I promised myself I'll stop nailbiting if they win the world series. trying to put down that habit for years. Haha I told myself the same thing yesterday. But at the same time I was resolving NOT to bite my nails yesterday and today so there would be something left for the game. Sick.
  2. It's time to start drinking. I know, what took me so long.
  3. That's the dumbest thing I've ever seen. Do they have a cheer coach or maybe practice like that dumb [expletive] at that college in Texas?
  4. I work from home, and I still should have stayed home. Like not even go downstairs to my office. Nothing has gotten done. And I know I'll be braving the game thread. I'm going to have a house full of people from out of town, but none care about the game. They know the basement door closes at 7:00 and that's it. But I'll need to be a loony with other loonies. So I'll be here.
  5. I'm going with my same prediction as last year for the finals, Blues vs. Bolts. This year Tampa wins it.
  6. Never thought a banner raising would be overshadowed quite like this. It's not even on my radar at all. Need to remember to DVR it.
  7. Don't you worry I'm ready to go on short rest tonight. Jesus 12 hours still.
  8. Yeah I woke up in the middle of the night and now I'm down a rabbit hole of hype videos. [expletive].
  9. That could be it.
  10. That is weird, I got the Paypal receipt at 9:01am. Let me know if it doesn't end up going through.
  11. Sadly, I would too. That says more about Smith than it does Cutler though.
  12. I don't see it. :( I got a Paypal receipt.
  13. I'm curious why you think the Chiefs might put something together this year. The opening schedule, sure. I don't know much about the Chiefs -- just wondering what you see. There are a few teams ahead of them for WC who look better to me right now. Aside from the offensive line, which we all know is kinda important, the pieces are there. Charles, Maclin, Kelce, a QB that is good enough though he runs really hot and cold. Sometimes it feels like Reid hands over the play calling to an eleven year old playing Madden for quarters or even games at a time. The defense has had a rough two weeks at GB and Cincy, but they have some players and can put some serious pressure on the QB, led of course by Houston. 3 out of first 4 were on the road, though they are losing a home game to London this year. Schedule is quite a bit softer from here on.
  14. An NFL team that isn't only 75% there isn't good enough to be a 10 point favorite. And the Chiefs haven't had any tougher of a first four games than the Bears have. That's true about the schedules. What I was saying is they are a better 1-3 team than the Bears at this point and it's not close.
  15. I'm not surprised at the 10 point spread. The Chiefs are that team that is 75% of the way there but just can't put the rest of it together. I grew up a Bears fan first, no question, but was always a Chiefs fan as my AFC team. And now I live in KC and became a Chiefs STH. This game doesn't mean much for the Bears this year. The Chiefs still have a chance to put something together after a really tough three weeks of opponents. So, Okoye or Sayers jersey at Arrowhead on Sunday? Gotta remember where I come from. The Comet most likely.
  16. I don't use an ad blocker but hell, I should be throwing in a bit. Done.
  17. I'm keeping the fatalistic Cubs fan side of me repressed. Jake is the man. He's got this. Gonna stay busy at work the next three days, drink heavily on Wednesday evening and all will be fine.
  18. Former Blackhawks goalie Antti Raanta left off Stanley Cup - Chicago Tribune https://apple.news/Aov_HzncvTaSQbVjZ0BsNCg Interesting.
  19. Yeah, this will be a fun one, though a lot of flipping between this one and Chiefs game if it stays close. I'm all for a Cubs-Royals WS except I'd come out of it a whole lot lighter in the wallet.
  20. So much for that. I'm sure Tallon won't take him back at a few mil per year.
  21. Ross is so slow. At least getting Lester out of the way here.
  22. That's more than a little over the top. No matter how it shakes out, McDonough's legacy and the legacy of this era of Hawks hockey will not be defined by this except in the eyes of a very small minority. And Blues fans.
  23. Have to wonder about those tweets. Not to go on a rant about journalistic standards these days, but throwing a tweet out there is no substitute for double or triple sourcing your reporting. It's so much easier for people to manipulate a case, basically using the media as their mouthpiece. Have to wonder what the motivation is for talking. Same thing with Kane's side of course.
