  1. I don't feel like digesting this right now. At least they are talking about hockey in August, I guess. http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/9538380/how-fix-nhl/
  2. Yeah I was at that one, fairly close, and you could hear it. Sounded bad. As for Puig, dude made a routine throw in from deep right to the infield that was just amazing. And seemingly effortless.
  3. So much for him taking less money for a shot at the cup- unlesss someone really believes that the Devils are a good bet to win whatever they're calling the eastern conference now. I saw and heard a lot of talk that it was strictly business and dollars for Jagr anymore. Fine. That's his right. And I didn't him anyway so don't care.
  4. One of Morin or Pirri will be in there I think.
  5. 30 minutes ago I'd have said Tiger was toast and Westwood was about to put it away. That plugged lie he had was brutal.
  6. Hopefully not too awesome, tbh Fair point.
  7. I will be paying quite a bit to be at MTS Centre in Winnipeg on 11/2. Toews' first game at home will be awesome.
  8. No interest in Jagr.
  9. Stan for President.
  10. @ESPNChiHawks: Marcus Kruger's cap hit will be $1.325 for each season, according to http://t.co/Gpob2FQLBA. Sounds good to me.
  11. Pirri and Smith in also. Well yeah I just meant from outside the org Stalberg too. Jamal Mayers too. Thought he hadn't decided yet if he was retiring.

  13. Good. They could afford to lose Kruger or Frolik, but both would have been tricky.
  14. He retired to get out of his NHL deal and will play in the KHL. Lamierello must be doing a backflip to get out from under that contract though a small cap penalty will apply for many years.
  15. Although sweet Jesus I just saw Rask got 8/56. Crow must be drooling.
  16. Crow now has the prestige of being a Cup winner, for what that's worth (ask M.A. Fleury), but I doubt he'll go out next year and match his numbers from this year. He won't break the bank, especially in a league that has a glut of goalies at the moment. I'm not saying the Hawks will pay him, but I think it's a bit early to assume he's gone after next year.
  17. yeah, hopefully his next transgression doesn't come at the expense of a hawks player http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/matt-cooke-permitted-wear-derek-boogaard-no-24-155633633.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter Clutterbuck is a great hockey name but not the name of a great hockey player or even a good one. On purely skill, Cooke is much better at the hockey than Clutterbuck. As far as dirty play, Cooke is at least trying to put the past behind him. It's true, Cooke is far better. And he is trying to clean up his image but he's under a huge microscope. Like Torres he gets zero benefit of the doubt.
  18. Interesting but no surprising since they needed to cut salary, Blues traded Perron to Edmonton. Which is funny because he's the exact type of player Edmonton doesn't need more of.
  19. And Matt Cooke is now in our division (MN). Great.
  20. An under-the-radar signing we're going to come to hate I think (we being Hawks fans) is Max Lapierre going to St. Louis. He and Shaw are going to get real familiar.
  21. [expletive] love it.
  22. What a crazy day. Glad to see Bobby Ryan leave the west although we'll only be facing Anaheim twice under the new alignment. Which is the same number of times we'll face Ottawa. Nevermind.
  23. Dallas isn't messing around. Got Seguin and Peverly earlier (though it cost Ericcson) and now added Horcoff also.
  24. I think the city has too much money sunk into the arena and that ultimately won out. Do the Suns play in Jobing too? No they play downtown.
  25. Leddy got 2.7 per year on his deal. Seems high but someone else would have offered him more given his potential. He may be in for a monster payday in two years if he continues to improve.
