I thought I heard something on the major Melbourne news station about somebody named Barry Zito being traded, but can't say for sure what it was that I heard. Our news stations do cover American sports, but usually only major happenings. Hope that helps."

    Read that aloud. Seriously. No sane human being would say something like that and then not add anything to it. It's akin to me working for Comcast and having this conversation: Person: Hey what's up? Me: Hi Person: So what are the chances that Comcast buys the NFL?     It was Len. It was the screen name he left on the cubs.com board before he was kicked off. Seeing as how Len wrote about getting kicked off the next day on his blog, all the info he left is real. Why he would give out his sn is beyond me but that was indeed Len. That just seems very weird that somebody who works for the Cubs would post on an internet message board about inside dealings. He seems to be more laid back than other broadcasters and is very close with the Cubs fan base (We know for FACTS taht he did the Q and A here and he was on the Cubs.com boards) We also know the "Fact" that Furcal is now a Dodger. This doesn't pass the smell test. i know it really doesnt- but he was right on the cubs trying to get another SP and we'd know today or monday, he also said there'll be more trades in the works and pierre is probably on his way.- we'll see

    how would len get on tv and say its him? + who has the username and password to his WGN account? all i'm saying is he said on tv himself that he was on the boards and + you all had a Q and A session on here with Len I'm not trying to attack you, but you made a claim based on what should be a reliable source. That assertion was proved false. According to convo you published on cubs.com, Len told you "100% certain." That doesn't leave much room to wiggle. So, are you suggesting Len lied? either that or furcal pulled a fast one on us- which it sounded like he was going to the cubs all the way up until the end. i dont know what to think but i'm very confident that it was len i was talking to. oh and aramis fan said when you had the Q and A on here it was around the same time i saw him online the only other time. so take it for what it's worth....

    Hello everyone, Before I left the forums last night I really thought Furcal would be a Cub today- only to find out when I came back- he'd signed with the Dodgers. The Len story wasn't made up BTW. Len first posted on http://www.cubs.com forum in August/September and when someone called his bluff, the poster asked Len to say something about the message boards on air the next day- which he did to everyone's surprise, he even wrote about the MBs in his WGN blog on http://www.wgn.com (i think that's the right address). Someone asked Len on the cubs board for his email because apparently he wanted to write something to Len, Len even encouraged fans to write to him. So last night I saw him online (only the second time) and I asked him if he'd heard any news on Furcal. To my amazement he actually replied and talked to me for like 2 hours. (I gotta admit he was right on the Cubs going after a pitcher and we should have details today i.e. Burnett), a well-respected poster from this board IMed me and asked me to ask Len if he knew ____. Len said it sounded familiar. All I'm saying is I know that it was Len I was talking to last night, but I believe he had the wrong info - or else Furcal pulled a fast one on us. Either way I'm just here to tell you I didnt make it up and to clear up confusion- if you still dont like me etc. i can see why. -JM

    So are the ticket takers, it doesn't mean they associate with each other as well. I'm sorry, I don't see Hendry discussing it with anyone execpt those directly involved with the signing (scouts, assistant GM, agent, the player, etc). I don't place Kasper in the inner circle. Just as odd would be Kasper breaking it before it happens, doesn't make sense at any angle. well- you guys can believe what you want but i have at least 1 other guy that actually set up a Q and A with Len on this board telling me I actually talked to him. BTW Len DID say 100% I'm going to eat soon and will be on early morning incase you all thought I ran off... Oh and if I'm wrong- I wont post on here ever again....And this beats the he/ll outta cubs boards

    - I cant respond to everyone on here individually cause- its just too much. All I can say is that he is 100% and no he didnt give figures. so you can all sleep easy tonight. To read the main convo go to http://www.cubs.com and view their message board- i broke the story about 2 hours ago- look through the posts to view the convo.

    That would be me. Len told me earlier tonight that he's "100%" sure that Furcal is coming to the Cubs and it may not be announced until Monday. He is expected to sign mid-day Sunday. He also said Pierre is more than likely on the way. Welcome! Ok, and Len heard this directly from Jim Hendry? yes- at first i didnt believe him and he replied that he's very good friends with Jim Hendry. + he wouldnt talk to me for 2 hours and tell me bogus stuff. I've talked to him before on AIM too.
