    I really think this team is gonna have its best defense over the Urlacher era. It wouldn't surprise me, if they stay healthy, if they break some records. Should definitely be pretty good.

    honestly how long is piniella gonna stick with this piece of crap. we got a guy in the minors tearing it up, but were gonna stick with this loser and hill whos somehow worse offensively. ugh. alright lets score some runs.

    why did lee swing at the first pitch there? he never swings at the first pitch. ugh. two nights in a row first pitch swinging in a big situation.

    I don't think there was really much of an opportunity. Look at how little movement there was. I don't think there was much available at prices that weren't outrageous. thats what im thinking too. probably just the let down from nothing happening.

    Huh...that's very different than what the Trib wrote today. (About Orton anyway) maybe that was just sunday then. they really didnt have the qb's throwing deep down field anyways. orton made a few bad passes, maybe it seemed like he threw more than he did. but griese did look bad. and he wouldnt throw anything more than a five yard pass.

    orton looked like crap on sunday when i was there. he made some bad passes and got picked off a few times. grossman didnt at all and looked pretty damn good to me. griese also looked awful. even worse than orton.

    game over?????????????? turn off your t.v. then...nice faith in your team. were facing a lefty, a very tough one at that. chances are not good the cubs will come back. and oh yeah, lilly has nothing tonight.

    Is it dumb if he is basically the only reason they are drawing any kind of crowds at all? Maybe the owner doesn't want him traded, might not be fair to put it all on Krivsky. true, but i think its a bad business decision long term to hold on to him. short term its the only thing keeping this franchise from averaging 10,000 a game this year, but long term theyd be better off getting as much as they can for him. plus, id like to see griffey play some meaningful baseball in september.

    i for one dont understand general managers like the one cincy's got. yeah, yeah i know griffey is going for the record, but he will never be as valuable as he is now, why not fully take advantage of it? personally, if the reds hold onto griffey, they're really dumb. id love to see him on the cubs, but even if he goes elsewhere, its probably best for the reds to try and get the most they can for him at a reasonable price.

    forgot to add that when the players were walking back to the locker room after practice, grossman was getting yelled at the loudest for autographs. it was nuts, everyone wanted his autograph. i was standing on the bleachers about 15 feet from where the crowds were lined up, and everywhere grossman went it was mass chaos. alex brown was very playful with the fans as well. he asked some kid what jersey he was wearing, and the kid turned and showed him his jersey, and brown said robbie gould? aw no man. i think he signed for the kid anyways. others who i saw that signed include tillman, chris harris, mike brown, and a few others who werent in the area i was.

    Anything to report on TC? Yeah, sorry this is late. Rashied Davis looked really good. Made some diving catches, didnt drop anything, ran some good routes. Also, the wr Ball? (he was number 19, the NCAA td record holder) actually looked really good. Made some really good catches. Benson I thought looked pretty good as well. Quick to the hole, ran north and south and did not juke and dance all that much. Finally, there was a little scuffle between two players at the end. It was reported in the Tribune, but it was funny because Hillemeyer ran to the scuffle and jokingly jumped in the air and dropped a fake elbow onto the pile. Pretty funny stuff.

    As Gob from arrested development once said, "my gut is telling me no. but my gut is also very hungry." I am not optimistic about the Cubs trading for anyone substantial. I just hope that if they do, its bigger than Matt Lawton was.

    Just saw this trade now, I like it. I went to training camp today, and I am really excited about the season. I agree with the previous statements that the Bears are gonna be better than last year. They may lose a few more games due to the schedule, but I think this team is gonna be stronger than last years. GO BEARS!

    I always liked TJ. If nothing else he was consistent. We always pretty much knew what to expect from him. Benson is obviously more unknown, but I really think he can be really good. I just hope he stays healthy, cause if not, the Bears could be in big trouble. I do like Peterson a lot, but I dont think he could be a number one back if the Bears needed him to be.
