My point wasn't to single out Uggla. He's having a good year, and I think Girardi is doing quite well with as little as he has to work with. My point is, you can look at the list of MLB players with 12-15 homers, and there are a lot of no-names, but none play for the Cubs. The Cubs lack of power this year is amazing to me. It's like there's no happy medium. The last couple of years it's live or die by the home run. We hit a couple of homers, we win; if we don't we lose. At least the potential was there. This year we hit 9 singles, score 3, and lose 5-3. A lot of games, we haven't had a fly ball make the warning track. I guess I'm just venting because I really enjoy watching the Cubs, but they're terrble and it doesn't seem like any changes (except for Lee and Prior coming back) are on the horizon.
