The Vikings are like the Cowboys. The narrative is set in stone early on that they're super talented on paper and even a long, long stretch of bad football doesn't change it.
I think it'll be a simple matter to bench Brett after this game. Get rid of Childress, make Frazier interim coach, go with Jackson for the rest of the year and reevaluate at the end of the season.
He had like 6 other outrageous plays in the game that were highlight worthy. Too bad the Clips got Del Negroed. I fear for someone's life, or Griffin's knees, the way he attacks the rim. It's ridiculous.
Deng is useful and does several things that are important but he's forced to be a #2 when he needs to be a #3 or 4. When he has to create he gets in trouble. I still don't think Denver takes him in a trade. They'd rather just have the cap space. If you can get a 3rd team involved that has expiring deals then you can start to build a trade around that.
59-34 on the boards. You usually blow teams out with that kind of edge on the glass. We just missed so many open shots and Luol did his disappearing act again. Really good win though.
I believe Westbrook is experiencing some of the difficulties Rose faces where has to do absolutely everything for his team to get a good bucket against a good D like Boston.
Contracts have to be honored and deals in place already can't be up and changed that easily. The end of the European theatre was also six years after it began. And the Marshall plan lasted another four. It's a matter of motivation. As we have seen large mergers can be shotgunned in a weekend when people are motivated to do it. Look how fast the GM bankruptcy went through. I don't believe for one second that we couldn't have two more wildcard teams starting in 2011 if that's what they really wanted. They just want to market it.
