those numbers are kind of fugazi. way too many non-competitive offensive possessions when the score is within reach. at the same time, williams is going to be robocop with proper development and coaching. he absolutely has rare traits. if we are equal on money and lose a beauty contest to the other teams out there in the HC market it's because mccaskey/warren/poles (if he's around) can't close a horsefeathers door

It wouldn’t surprise me if poles was sold on “yeah we are going to bring in a president but he’s just going to deal with the new stadium and bizops so you can focus personnel” it’s not really that much of a defense because poles might be super ass at his job

am I crazy or didn’t Theo used to talk about the goal being a team that could consistently pump out 95 win seasons and we all agreed that was reasonable with the resources the cubs have now the goal is 85 with a stretch goal of 90 and we’ve got the most informed posters on this site posting like its their money being spent

I’m operating under the assumptionthat everything silvy said including “don’t be surprised if there is a mutual parting of ways at the end of the season” is because poles or a poles go between told him to say that i don’t really think poles would leave voluntarily after this season so I think he thinks he is getting canned after this season and is trying to play a little offense with media leaks
