  1. 6 4 1 1 2 6 on 86 pitches, 9/3 GO/FO for Robinson. If he gets another couple of starts after the ASG, I'll be surprised. Got to move him and Mekkes up.
  2. Hatch also threw 93 pitches, going 5.2 4 1 1 2 4. Extremely similar line to Clifton lol. Another really solid outing. Just got gassed in the 6th, a bit.
  3. Clifton's at 93 pitches, so I think he's likely done. 5 5 2 2 2 5. He needs to get more economical, needs to walk a few less guys too. Still, solid enough outing. But, even though he's clearly the best of our Tennessee rotation, I see Hedges and Tseng both getting promoted before him. In fact, I'm kind of thinking he's in Tennessee all year.
  4. Based off the extremely limited info out there, Heredia probably is the guy to pay the most attention to. Throws 90+, has a solid curve.....I would be shocked if he made it to Arizona during the season though, same with Cruz. They acclimate guys to US life during EXST and during Instructs. They're not going to bring a guy over during the middle of the season and set him up for possible failure. This FO hasn't done that yet, with a single DSL guy. Promotions for ANY DSL guys during the season are pretty rare, because you've got the new draftees taking up lots of roster spots too. That said, Nunez is easily the pick to get promoted, if they bring anyone over. He's spent time in the US already. And he's only still in the DSL because of a log jam. Rafael Narea is a year older and got promoted to Arizona and I'd guess that age at least partially was the reason. At any rate, an injury occurs.....Nunez is probably here quick. Heredia or Cruz can probably be lights out all year and not make it here until Instructs though, unless I've missed one of them being at Instructs this past off season.
  5. Yovanny Cruz goes 5 4 1 1 0 6 for DSL1. That's his second outing and as the opening day starter, he may be worth paying attention to.
  6. Alex Scherff is a Boras guy, I'm guessing he's not cheap. Jake Eder is a Vandy guy, he's going to be tough.
  7. The under slot one, over slot the other idea Law is talking about, explains Varsho, Rooker, Gonzalez, maybe even Melendez being mocked to us. Top 15 talent.....Baz a possibility? I'll guess not. Same with Hall. Leaves Carlson and Rogers, I'd guess..... There first has to be a top 15 talent that drops. I haven't heard of any true tough signs yet, other than Brady McConnell and Mark Vientos in a blurb in one of the recent mocks. Has anybody else seen other names listed as tough signs? Baz has been rumored to have a high price tag. Even still, I can't see him falling. Carlson has shown up inside some top 20's, but has still been mocked lower, lending to at least wondering if he's got a high price tag. Rogers falls in that same boat..... As far as other guys I'd guess that one whole list of guys in Law's chat.....Heatherly, Corry, Jennings, Hurt, Enlow, Jennings, he mentioned Carlson too. I'm going to assume if you're trying to cut a deal with a team to move down, you're getting significant over slot to do it, at least. Beck falls in there too. Estrada is supposedly really tough, Mercado too.
  9. Mekkes to Myrtle, I presume? Doesn't look like it. Some dude named Pearson is being activated. I even had Mekkes to Myrtle already written and deleted it.
  10. Eh, his peripherals are only bad, not awful. He's got ML experience and Iowa's rotation is a complete train wreck to begin with. He's probably gone, if he's not pitching better when Zastryzny and Mills get healthy and Tseng and Hedges are promoted.
  11. Has us taking Gary Varsho's kid, Daulton. He's a fast rising C. At 30, its got us taking Schmidt.
  12. And if you like names, as I do, then you want us to draft RHP Janson Junk, RHP D'Mond LaFond, OF Tyler Dearden, OF Brock Deatherage, OF Andrew Shaps, RHP Spencer Torkelson, LHP Sam Glick, OF Brewer Hicklen, or RHP Zach Pop..... Junk and LaFond being the standouts to me.
  13. Here's my list of guys I like. Granted, if we take zero of them, I'll be happy with whatever the FO does anyway. Still, my hope is 2 of my group at 27 and 30, 1 in the 2nd, and 2-3 more later on.... 27 and 30 High School Bats SS Nick Allen, OF Drew Waters, Jeter Downs, OF Heliot Ramos (2 favorites are Allen and Waters) College Bats 2B Keston Hiura, OF/1B Brent Rooker, SS Logan Warmoth (Hiura is my favorite, by far) High School Arms RHP Sam Carlson, LHP Trevor Rogers, RHP Blayne Enlow (Carlson is my favorite, by far) College Arms LHP Seth Romero, RHP Clarke Schmidt, RHP Nate Pearson, LHP Brendon Little, RHP Tanner Houck, Corbin Martin, Alex Lange (Romero and Schmidt are my favorites) 2nd Round High School Bats 3B Mark Vientos, OF Daniel Cabrera, OF Jacob Pearson (Vientos is my favorite) High School Arms LHP Jacob Heatherly, RHP Michael Mercado, RHP Matt Tabor, RHP Caden Lemons, Kyle Hurt (Mercado is my favorite) College Bats SS Kevin Merrell, OF Luis Gonzalez, OF Stuart Fairchild, C Riley Adams (Gonzalez is my favorite) College Arms RHP Tristan Beck, RHP Will Gaddis, LHP Daniel Tillo (Beck is my favorite) Round 3+ High School Bats C Steven Williams, OF Jevon Ward, OF Calvin Mitchell (Williams is my favorite) High School Arms LHP Seth Corry, LHP Shane Drohan, RHP Landon Leach, RHP Jackson Rutledge, RHP Gavin Williams, RHP Carmen Mlodzinski, LHP Asa Lacy, RHP Tommy Mace, RHP Hunter Ruth, LHP Brendan Murphy, RHP Jack Conlon, RHP Spencer Strider, LHP Logan Allen, RHP Kevin Abel, RHP Sam Keating, RHP Chris McMahon, RHP Cade Cavalli (Corry, Lacy, Ruth, Leach, and Mlodzinski are my favorites) College Bats SS Kevin Smith, SS Taylor Walls, C Connor Wong, OF Jared Oliva, 3B Will Toffey, SS Zach Rutherford, SS Jesse Berardi, C JJ Schwarz (Walls, Toffey, and Rutherford are my favorites) College Arms RHP Jake Thompson, RHP Trevor Stephan, RHP Morgan Cooper, RHP Drew Rasmussen, RHP Spencer Howard, RHP Tony Dibrell, RHP Ryan Lillie, RHP Tim Kincanon, LHP Riley Widell, LHP Logan Salow, LHP Charlie Barnes, LHP Oliver Jaskie, RHP Jordan Spicer (Thompson, Cooper, Dibrell, Kincanon, and Widell are my favorites) My Cubs hopeful draft is this.... 27) LHP Seth Romero(slot) 30) SS Nick Allen(slot) 67) CF Luis Gonzalez(slot) 105) LHP Asa Lacy HS (200k over slot) 135) RHP Tony Dibrell(slot) 165) RHP Hunter Ruth HS (250k over slot) 195) LHP Riley Widell (150k over slot) 225) C JJ Schwarz (slot) 255, 285, and 315 are Senior Signs, saving 350k Round 11 RHP Ben Jordan HS (100k over slot)
  14. Alzolay ran into trouble in the 3rd. Finished 4 3 3 3 3 8. That was on 86 pitches. He was 2 1 0 0 1 5, after 2. Gave up a 2 run shot and a solo shot back to back and his PC went north quickly.
  15. Brailyn Marquez went 4 1 0 0 2 3 in his EXST against our Mesa roster. AZPhil says he's got a shot at being the 5th starter for Eugene, behind Albertos, Assad, Camargo, and de los Rios.
  16. Paredes HR, OPS up to .683.
  17. https://twitter.com/Savermetrics/status/872947928674877440 140 on BA's list, 180 on MLB's. Clemson commit.
  18. Theo mentioned not sure when he'll rejoin team.
  19. What's up with Rizzo?
  20. Garcia, Dickey, and Colon are all on one year deals. They ARE gone, at the deadline or after the season. They WILL try to move those guys before trying on Teheran. What possibly makes you think they aren't big on Teheran? They've said they wanted him to lead their next contenders staff......Not to mention, he's still there, after having had offers on him previously.....If they weren't fans of his, he'd already be gone. If he gets his horsefeathers together and they can't move the other guys, maybe they'll consider it. But, I seriously doubt it. They think they're close to contending. If they think that, you think they'll want to head into next year with Folty and FOUR question marks in their rotation? And after that, it still comes down to value.....You threw out an obviously silly package, but what IS fair on him? They can get THAT for him, if he pitches like this all year and probably next year too. What IS fair value for him? 3/31 left on his deal after the season.....There's no reason for them to sell unless they're getting something they really like.....If they'd settle for less now, (1 They've got limp dick management or 2) His arms falling off. I doubt the first is true, so if he's available for cheap, its because they're scared of him. They wanted a ton for him before, I'd be shocked if that's changed. And he's been horrible this year. So, I'm curious, what you think gets him? Because I'd be shocked if they moved him without Eloy, or at least Javy or Happ being involved. Ad I'd be pissed if we moved any of those guys for him.
  21. 1) He may correct his early season issues. 2) The fact that that's possible, is exactly why the Braves won't sell low on him currently. Seriously, you can buy low on the Eddie Butlers of the world or some guys that have had multiple down years in a row.....There's literally no chance the Braves sell him off for pennies on the dollar NOW, when they've got him for 3 more years after this and he can regain value over that point. There's also no reason for a team to give them true value for him currently, because he's looked like complete horsefeathers. Couple that with the fact the Braves LOVE him and wanted a metric ass ton for him two years ago, didn't even listen to offers for him last year.....Sorry, its really just common sense that they're not going to let a bad start to a year, dictate them selling low on him. On top of that, they DO have a ton of arms.....In no way, shape, or form though, are they all ready for the majors currently. Or even necessarily soon. Newcomb and Sims will see the majors this year, that's probably it. They've got Dickey, Garcia, and Colon to move out of the rotation. They're not in need of finding guys spots right now. They've got plenty of time to wait on Teheran to regain value and there's still not even a guarantee tbey'll sell him anyway, if he does. At BEST, he's an off season trade target.
