  1. If Hendry wanted to make a blockbuster deal, it should have been for a Right Fielder...NOT A SHORTSTOP!! Hendry's philosophy seems to be the opposite of common sense logic - He wants to bring in players at a position that could be filled internally in the near future (CF = Pie, SS = Cedeno), and neglects a position that CAN'T be filled internally (RF). Oh well.....We are the CUBS!?!
  2. Hey Len! Great to have you aboard! One quick question: It seems that the Cubs tend to perform better when the Kids (Murton & Cedeno) play. How important do you think it is to have young enthusiastic players on your roster? Thanks!
  3. Matt Murton has played so good thus far....i would really hate to see the Cubs give up on him already by aquiring another LF. I hope the Cubs give him more playing time, and at least let him finish this season before they decide to upgrade or not.
  4. What a bunch of jerks!!! Everything i've read about Latroy Hawkins, suggests that he's a cool guy with a great attitude. He certainly does not deserve this treatment. What the heck ever happened to the "Friendly Confines" of Wrigley Field? :(
  5. It'd make sense if his splits weren't so extreme. His OPS against lefties this year is .197. Yikes!! I didn't know he was so lousy against lefties
  6. Maybe the Cubs have finally realized the importance of having high OBP guys on their roster? Jody Gerut seems to fit that mold. Since July 7th, when Corey Patterson was sent down and Dusty set up the batting order properly, the Cubs have scored alot of runs & won 7 of 8 games. Could this also be a pre-cursor to Corey Patterson getting traded?
  7. According to a story posted today at Sportsline.com, Nomar's recovery is going better than hoped for. Nomar said he hopes to start running the bases next week, and their is some optimisim that he may be able to return for the final two months of the season. GET WELL SOON NOMAR, WE NEED YA!! :D
