  1. heh, out of curiosity, what do you do for a living that you know your finance so well?
  2. Can we get a rundown on Rowell, Snider and Conger since those seem to be the three Cub targets? Thanks.
  3. Murton's OPS (.721) is currently the third worst mark in the entire national league (with only Preston Wilson and an awful Cliff Floyd trailing him). He's been a giant liability this season and it's looking more and more like he's nothing more than a platoon player. For the all the criticism Jacque Jones gets, he's at least been the most productive of the three outfielders.
  4. yeah, Minnesota really wants Walker....they're the team that nearly ran him out of baseball. They could not stand him when he was a Twin.
  5. Considering Corey Patterson has a NEGATIVE VORP it tells you what an embarassment this team is. I'd rather release him than pay the 3 mil or so he's getting next year.
  6. I'd pick a different Green Day song, "Boulevard of Broken Dreams"
  7. Dave Kingman had a career OBP of .305. So, no, Billy Beane NEVER would have "loved a lineup full of Kingman's." Now, if you want to say he would have loved a lineup full of Bellhorns, Thomes, Chois, etc., I'll agree with you. Olney QUOTES Beane as saying: When I started, I would've taken nine Dave Kingmans -- lots of home runs and lots of strikeouts, as long as they draw some walks," Beane said So, yes, Beane did say that. So, instead of accusing Olney of falsifying quotes, maybe you should keep an open mind.
