Anyone who has seen me talk about the Cubs knows I'm far from an optimist, but my gut tells me that the kid will be in a Cubs uniform by Tuesday. I kinda have that feeling too...it's been kinda quiet lately but that tidbit from the Trib got me thinking they're going for Griffey, as did the report on ESPN 1000. keeping fingers crossed What was the ESPN 1000 report? I posted it a couple of posts up in this thread

    According to the "BP tidbits about Griffey" thread, ESPN 1000 reported yesterday there is a deal brewing between the Cubs/Reds for Griffey, and Murton/Pie could be involved.

    I think the difference is that Dunn is really good against righties, to the tune of a 1.074 OPS.

    Kind of interesting that he wouldn't even comment on that. I dunno, maybe a sign something is in the works... yea, that was posted earlier in this thread 2 days to end the speculation... ahh, looking back in the thread, I see it now. Wow, hadn't even heard about that ESPN 1000 report...makes me more confident that we may get Griffey.
