  1. Where are you getting that from? Did you make that up? make what up? the article linked to in this thread said the Cubs were getting him to be a 4th outfielder. I think I worded the second part wrong, he hasn't really struggled much with Washington, but if the Cubs are going to get him I want him to play every day, not sit in favor of Jacque or Floyd. I was seriously wondering if you had heard that Church needed consistant ABs to be effective. Im only going by his numbers and gamelogs (I havent really seen him play), but it looks like he is fairly effective as a non-every day guy in the past. yeah, I thought I had heard that at some point in the past, I'm probably wrong though

  3. ehh, I wouldn't be too excited about Church, I think the Cubs would only get him for the bench, and he has struggled with Washington when not getting consistent AB's.
  4. If Gammons had actually said something about Griffey to the Cubs, someone definitely would have posted it here, so I think this "rumor" is definitely BS.
  5. umm I'd like to see where/when exactly Gammons reported that, I'd assume it's BS.
  6. we were playing the Phillies the day we acquired Nomar. I assume this means Dunn to the Cobs is definitely happening
  7. On ESPN 1000's update right now, they said the Sox are now trying to re-sign Dye to a 2 or 3 year deal.
  8. The Trib notes that the Sox lost a Triple-A catcher to waivers tonight, which would open up a free spot for a 2-for-1 trade.
  9. ugh, great He was speculating about Kielty, didn't mention any specific discussions or anything. yea, i dont think he meant kielty specifically. I just think he wanted to make the point of adding a RH outfielder....so i wouldnt mind dye if its gonna be right handed hitter (but not if marmol is in the talks) oh yeah I agree, I'm just hoping Hendry sets his sights a little higher than Bobby Kielty if he makes a deal.
  10. Or Kendall and Hill at catcher. Well, I don't think there are a lot of catchers out there to get at this point, but it seems like there are options at RF that would greatly improve this team.
  11. I'm really disappointed that Hendry is confident in Floyd, Jacque and Pagan in the outfield.
  12. Nothing Muskat ever says will make anything official. She doesn't have any inside info on Hendry. It wasn't really what Muskat said though, most of it is just quotes from Hendry:
  13. Cubs.com has an article up with Hendry saying he is satisfied with the club he has now and doesn't forsee them making a major move. I think that pretty much guarantees that we are standing pat. :x
  14. Pretty clear that Lilly doesn't have it tonight.
  15. so what time does Murton get taken out for Floyd? I say 5:30 PM.
  16. http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports_hardball/2007/07/hendry-felix-pi.html I'm happy about Pie staying put, but this makes me think we are not going to add anything.
  17. Hmmm, I'd like Dye, but what is KW asking the cubs for him? Well, KW did ask for Marmol, and discussions ended there, I don't think Dye will be coming here.
  18. A lot of activity today, I think we may see a few more deals too.
