    True...we could have shipped Sosa off to NY and had Soriano about five years younger.

    Yes, we're all glad to see the Cubs losing by an additional run. i don't think it matters. and in the battle between sosa and hendry, i'll take sosa every time. It was actually a typical Sosa homer. This game may as well have be 10-1 with this offense.

    The Cubs lineup has 4 number 8 hitters in the lineup right now. Sweet.

    The Marquis we know and love peppered in with some nice defense. He could have been out of the inning.

    I'd be pretty surprised if he is backing up Josh Bard, considering his inability to hit so far this year. The Padres are definitely in need of a good hitter, and Barrett is much more likely to be that for them than Bard is. It will be fun to see what happens to the Pads ERA when he pitches. It is either going to make one side or the other of the Barrett argument look silly.

    Unfortunately this is looking like a typical Cub game. We have left HOW many people on base in this game?

    Exactly. It is not bad enough that I can not stand the a-clowns in the bleachers to begin with (everything wrong with the Cubs), but to happen two times in one game (in consecutive innings) is just embarrassing.

    Man with the baseball acumen on this site, one would think the manager could be responsible for 40 losses a year on his own. :roll: :roll: :roll: :roll: Ohman faced, what, 5 righties, including 2 after he gave up a shoulda-been-homer? Gallagher was ready? It was plain stupid managing. I defy you to come up with a defense for what happened there. Exactly. How about one time we actually call a squeeze play in the bottom of the inning late in the game when we have bases loaded and no out. Instead, the obligatory pissing down the leg will suffice.
