  1. If he hadn't gotten in the way of Zambrano's fists, none of this would have happened!
  2. If Olney's account is right, it is worse than I thought it was. It's a shame.
  3. I'm guessing it had to do with Zambrano trying to punch him in the face over a passed ball. Just a guess.
  4. I'm kind of glad this happened. It's all so exciting!
  5. This is a completely lame standard to hold Barrett to. Yes, professionalism went out with red leather jackets. Give me a break. I'm not even sure what point you are trying to make here. You don't like Michael Barrett, we get it. The fight was almost entirely Zambrano's fault. It's pretty obvious to everyone. Why does Barrett have to sit there and take a tongue lashing from one of the worst regular starting pitchers in baseball this year? Zambrano was a complete joke today. Imagine the nerve of him to tell another player to "keep their head in the game." What a delusional maniac. My point is that it seems to me that many people are making Barrett the victim here. Zambrano is not the first Cub pitcher to have a problem with Barrett. Prior and Maddux both have had problems with him in the past. Z is/was stupid. Z should not have done what he did. Barrett on the other hand instigated the altercation by pointing to the freaking scoreboard after he made two stupid mistakes on one play. It's seems to me that both are in the wrong here. Sorry, I just can't agree with you here. He's getting reamed out by a pitcher who was throwing batting practice all day and who has been horrible this year. If I was Barrett I would have told him to worry about himself, too. Carlos has been making stupid mistakes all year. If he doesn't like them being pointed out, then maybe he shouldn't bring up other people's. Also, maybe he shouldn't physically attack people when they point out his mistakes.
  6. Classy.

  9. Wasn't there an incident with Murton earlier this year where Zambrano showed him up? I can't recall what exactly happened, but I do vaguely remember something taking place. I can remember one with Murton and one with Walker. I think there have been others as well. Zambrano, as much as I've liked him, is a punk. His bravado is fun and entertaining when he's going well, like his predicting the Cubs will win 110 games or his claiming he'll win the Cy. But when things go bad, he's an immature jackass. Barrett's an emotional player as well. We've seen this with Oswalt and AJ. The difference is Barrett is usually taking on the other team and not his own. That behavior may not be good, but it's world's better than pouting and blaming your own teammates. Zambrano was acting like a baby and Barrett called him on his prima donna attitude. Maybe if Zambrano started throwing the ball better and quit trying to act like Kent Tekulve he'd get more outs this year. I basically agree with you here. Barrett should not have started round 2, if indeed he did.
  10. Actually, I think that's completely justified in that situation. whole situation is avoided if barrett just mans up and takes it. Whole situation is avoided if Zambrano isn't a baby, or doesn't try and blame his team for the 13 hits and six earned runs. Whole situation is also avoided if Barrett plays like a competent major league catcher rather than committing both a passed ball and an error to allow a run to score, then following Zambrano to the clubhouse for more. Zambrano's mainly to blame, but Barrett isn't innocent here. I actually think that Barrett going back into the clubhouse for more is the worst part of this whole issue. However, I can't disagree with you more on the top part. No one likes getting their mistakes pointed out in that manner. Z didn't like it when Barrett pointed to the scoreboard to show Carlos his numerous mistakes from today. Zambrano's actions in the dugout were inexcusable.
  11. Sometimes you have to own it. First Barrett calls for a pitch and gets crossed up Then he makes a really stupid play to compound the already stupid cross up. I looked to me like Z was telling Barrett to use his head. And Barrett told Z to not suck so much. Perhaps Zambrano should "own" the fact that he can't get anyone out instead of blaming Barrett?
  12. Sometimes you have to own it. First Barrett calls for a pitch and gets crossed up Then he makes a really stupid play to compound the already stupid cross up. I looked to me like Z was telling Barrett to use his head. Wow, irony alert. Z is an unstable pre madonna that falls to pieces at the drop of a hat. He was a [expletive] joke today and if I was Barrett and this turd was throwing like he was today, I'd been pretty pissed about being called out by him. Who made more mistakes this game? Barrett or Zambrano? Zambrano was throwing batting practice today. To try to put the blame on others is unbeleivable childish. Zambrano acted like a lunitic in the dugout. That being said, if Barrett went in to the lockerroom to start round 2, that is absolutely inexcusable.
  13. Yeah, it seems like he's getting everything under control.
  14. That "catch the ball" comment could have been directed at a bunch of people today, really.
  15. Lou also seemed to throw our good buddy Hendry under the bus there as well.
  16. Pretty ridiculous if Barrett went into the showers and started anohter fight. If that's true, he's got to be launched.
  17. Barrett it looks to have started the second fist fight. Judging by that last comment "I just want someone who can catch the abll and run the bases" sounds like Barrett is probably gone.
  18. Barrett's "lip cut up pretty good."
  19. Sounds like they fought twice.
  20. This is really exciting.
  21. Oh please. Leaving after such an incident is not out of line. I imagine he was probably told to leave if the rumors that he was going nuts in the clubhouse are true.
  22. Maybe Lou brought more FIRE and INTENSITY than was needed?
  23. Sounds like Z went back into the clubhouse and was tearing it up.
