Nevermind, THAT was the microcosm. I maintain the Pirates will lose the WC game to the Reds.

It's a better move anyway. Sveum's just doing God's work and trying to help the Pirates win the division. Swept by the Pirates, sweep the Cards, everyone goes home happy. I guess we might as well let Gregg learn why he isn't coming back next year anyway.

On the year, Valbuena on a 3-1 count has a 1.259 OPS Don't ever let facts stand in your way, though. It was nothing specific to him as a player, just the team in general. Gregg coming in here over Strop is laughable.

Valbuena grounding into a 3-6 DP on a 3-1 count is a good microcosm for the season.

1. I always thought "striking out the side" required a 1-2-3 inning 2. It's gonna suck to lose Navarro to a team that will make him a starter. He's been the Cubs most consistent hitter this season without a doubt.

None of this means anything. OK. Thanks for your opinion. In my opinion, the Cardinals are going to win the division and the Reds will beat the Pirates in a low scoring WC game.

Pirates will have trouble in playoffs if they can't score. I think they'll be one and done, maybe even in the WC game.
