    Reds take game 2. Cards have a 4 game set at home with San Fran next before going to Pittsburgh. Hopefully we can pick up a game or two.

    Just thinking about how poorly Joe managed this game... from having Russell and Almora in the lineup, to wasting the team’s leading home run hitter in a 1-0 game in the 4th, to forcing himself to let Heyward bat in the 8th, all the while Zobrist was apparently available. Don’t tell me he doesn’t give you a better plate appearance, at least in Heyward’s spot - even with his rust. Good post above by Named After Maddux, but Maddon’s part in all this can’t be lost. A lot of it is lack of on field execution, but Maddon himself has lost us a bunch of games, and made it harder to win in a bunch more.

    Russell, Happ, Kemp vs. Hader LOL. We need to PRAY the Reds win tonight or this division is done. Don’t care that we have 7 left against the Cardinals. We aren’t going better than 4-3 against them and that’s probably optimistic.

    All the pressure on the brewers and you let them off the hook in two pitches. Russell shouldn’t even be on the team for a myriad of reasons yet he’s taking that at-bat. Just inexcusable incomplete all over the place.
