  1. Damn! Oh well they'll score here and win 1-0 and we'll move to 0-9.
  2. I haven't watched Rich Hill pitch tonight and I refuse to because I don't want to break...Well you know...
  3. Mmmmmm...Virgin. Aren't you married? Mmmmmm...Virgin :P What happens on NSBB, stays on NSBB!
  4. Only a Cubs fan I tell ya! The most creative minds on the planet. Curses, luck, hypotheticals...It's just bad baseball guys. It really is.
  5. Angel Guzman Wade Miller...
  6. But will we lose more then we win. That's the question.
  7. I wish I could stop watching and caring about them...I really do.
  8. Pyth is worthless at this stage. It looks good thanks to a couple high scoring games. I've never liked its inability to account for feast or famine offenses like the Cubs, and that is just exasperated this early in the season. Take out the Cubs 2 highest and 2 lowest scoring games, and their average runs scored drops from about 4.6 to 4.3. The Cubs aren't having bad luck. They are a flawed team having all its weaknesses exposed. People keep talking about the 1 and 2 run losses, but the Cubs have lost by 3, 4 and 5 runs as well. When you are a bad team with a bad record, your record is going to be bad in just about every split. The Cubs need to drastically improve their play, not hope for luck to start going there way. to their credit, I don't think any of the Cubs have blamed any of this on bad luck Yet.
  9. As long as it's not too late when it does even out...
  10. You do wonder why broadcasters, fans, and East-coast media can see it, but Rothschild has yet to make note of it. You honestly don't think he has? noticed it? probably fixed it? no sir It was the same thing last year. Everyone saw that his mechanics were messed up, and it took him and Larry a month to correct.
  11. Actually with Hill pitching, I'll be switching back and forth.
  12. I was thinking the same thing...Man, this could get ugly if he does..
  13. Why not! You might as well... Why not? Because they are likely to only have around 30-35 million to sign people next year. Z and Barrett have to be the two highest priorities, along with figuring out what to do about SS. Also, Floyd and Ward will need to be replaced (not big costs, but still). That extra 3 million that the team is paying Prior could make a difference in that. I'm not saying that they necessarily have to not sign Prior-but they simply can't pencil him in on the salary books for another season either without considering if it's worth it, and depending on the surgery Prior might not be worth it at that point. Well let me tell you that Zambrano will not be a Cub next year. It doesn't like look they are going to get a deal done by season's end...
  14. One of the marks of a very, very bad baseball team. True. Very few games this year has the offense, the starting pitching, the defense, and the bullpen all been in sync. But for any team how many games a year does this actually happen? Good teams find ways to win...
  15. The weather has been great since Friday and we are still losing. It's not the weather...
  16. Hendry is responsible for each and every reason why they suck. He's the GM. He puts together the team. You don't diregard the poor record because a couple of the guys he got are doing well. So I guess whichever team wins the world title, no credit should be given to the players or manager, but just to the GM for "putting the team together." Hendry is not totally to blame. Yes, this is a flawed roster, and for that he incurs blame. Lou incurs blame for a few questionable decisions (none of them last night IMO) and the fact that he told Hendry repeatedly to not bring anyone else in. The players get blame for under performing what people like Hendry or everybody else would expect of them. There's too much blame here to put it on one person. There's plenty of blame to go around. But Hendry is ultimately the main problem. The GM is the most important person in an organization. And the Cubs have a really bad one. Soriano's contract is so bad I can see it crippling us in a couple of years. how about we wait to see who the new owner is. as long as their willing to keep spending money, theres no reason it would cripple us. Agreed! It shouldn't cripple us at all. It's all the Derosa's, Howry, Eyre, Jones, Izzy, type of contacts that cripple us.
  17. He is even if he does pitch. Not pitching this year delays his free agency through 2009. He was called up too late in 2002 for that year to count, so the clock didn't start ticking until 2003. That's even better...
