  1. It was more than just a wording mistake, it was a flaw in logic. I'm not denying that 8 games can be made up, but the Brewers are looking to be a team that will have less 2-8 stretches and more 8-2 than the Cubs. Exactly!
  2. These games are always close. We won't get smoked.
  3. I like it. I'm glad that Howard is out of the lineup again, but it's not like the Phil's are missing him in this series.
  4. Soriano is the least of our problems. Our Pen and offense just flat out stinks.
  5. Unless the Brewers come back down to earth in a hurry, yes. We are going to hover around .500 which I thought would be enough to compete in the Central, but I didn't consider a fast start by the Brewers.
  6. trust me you'd hear zero bitching if we went undefeated. We bitch because they stink.
  7. How many games have we just flat out gave away? It's has to be at least 8 games. If we just won half of those we would be in good shape. I don't even know what to say anymore. It's the same thing year after year. That simple fact is what still has me believing that the Cubs will contend this year. Our guys need to learn (quickly) how to put games away when they are right there for the taking, and if we win half of the close ones, we'll be just fine. We've been saying this the past 6 weeks. Nothing has changed in that time span. So what makes you think that all of a sudden the light switch will just come on.
  8. We'll win today and take 2/4 from the Met's.
  9. How many games have we just flat out gave away? It's has to be at least 8 games. If we just won half of those we would be in good shape. I don't even know what to say anymore. It's the same thing year after year. The bullpen alone accounts for 9 losses. That's 9 games blown after the starter left either tied or with the lead. Not good. Disgusting! Makes me want to hit something!

  11. This team looks like it is what it is. They will hover around .500. Either above a couple games or below a couple games They don't have the means to play consistenly enough to play beyond that. Which would be good enough to compete in the Central but with the start the Brewers got there is no way anyone can catch them unless they just flat out tank. And the WC will not come out of the Central. No way!
  12. No team in the Central is even close to playing consistent. They would have to seriously stumble not to win it. Why can't we ever have a laugher of a season. Even in 2003 it cam down to the wire.
  13. Unfortunately my heart is with this stupid team. I don't get fired up after a Bulls or Bears loss.
  14. So did I. And the sad thing is we should be with the production we are getting from Hill, Lillly, and Marquis. What a waste. When you're the Cubs, even the pythag and other stats mean nothing. It's not reality......it's Cub reality. Nothing normal applies. Hill, Lilly, and Marquis can produce all they want. We'll still suck. Lee & ARam can do whatever they want. Even a positive run differential won't matter. We will just suck, period. Thanks for the great weekend, COBS! Keep your chin up! We still have tomorrow to stink it up.

  16. No way. They are a team that's being sold. What would be the point.
  17. 17-22 sounds about right. Perhaps 18-21 if we're lucky.
  18. In the same inning all with 2 outs! Only the cubs.
  19. I love the fake rally... That was in the 7th. The rules state that the Cubs are only entitled to one fake rally per game, and only on days when they feel like it. Actually that was a real rally in the 7th... I think it should be ruled a fake rally since the team gave up 6 runs in the bottom of the inning. It was just there to get our hopes up. No the rally was real. The "give back" is a different catagory. There's the "Fake Rally" and "The give back".
