  1. This way I can catch the radio feed of Nomar in single A while waiting for the start... Good plan, my man. Is there anywhere online we can listen to the radio feed? Looks like rain in Peoria too, but the Chiefs look to be broadcasting from their site http://peoriachiefs.com.
  2. This way I can catch the radio feed of Nomar in single A while waiting for the start...
  3. Gameday is reporting a lineup of: Hairston Walker Lee Burnitz Ramirez Barrett Perez Murton Maddux Were'd anyone see the back-to-back Lee/Ramirez lineup?
  4. I forgot to mention that you get treated to Chicago commercials on Cubs-based broadcasts. That Bob ROOOARMAN commercial brought back memories!
  5. Is MLB.TV paying for all the posts they are getting today? (There is a review on the subject a few links below on the main discussion page.)
  6. I love it - worth every penny. I don't have cable TV, but get to watch any game but the national blackouts. Also, you can flip between games pretty easily if you're bored and get broadcasts of almost any game. I've got DSL at home and the stream is fine (my work T1 is even better!). The picture is very clear if you open it in the normal window size (I prefer Real Player, but Windows Media Player is fine). The picture starts to lose clarity quickly if you start moving to a 2x picture. That said, I've watched a few games in full screen, but you're definately looking at a so-so picture. Even then, it's still o.k. In fact, I've checked out the projection capabilities in a lecture hall and would have been glad to watch a few games on the big screen!
  7. VORP is park adjusted (or at least was at inception using the previous 3 years of park specific data).
  8. BP's VORP ratings: 1. Brian Roberts 54.1 2. Jeff Kent 38.0 3. Chase Utley 36.7 4. Alfonso Soriano 28.7 5. Craig Biggio 25.7 6. Marcus Giles 25.6 7. Chone Figgins 23.6 8. Craig Counsell 20.4 9. Ray Durham 20.1 10. Robinson Cano 19.6 11. Ryan Freel 19.4 12. Luis Castillo 17.9 13. Adam Kennedy 16.6 14. Todd Walker 16.0 VORP is cumulative, but is also presented in a per/game format. If you look at VORP as a rate/game Soriano and Walker start to even out...Soriano 0.305 : Walker 0.303. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/statistics/sortable/index.php?cid=89
  9. Nomar's Peoria rehab will go through July 28th. FWIW the Jaxx are home from July 29-August 4th, while the Iowa Cubs will be at Tacoma and Portland From July 29-August 2 before returning to Iowa for games August 4-August 11. dusty said last night during the game Nomah would end up in Iowa or W. Tenn, depending on who was playing at home. looks like you may get to see him play in Jackson And here I was hoping they'd send him to the Pacific NW for AAA rehab on the road! (Wishful thinking...)
  10. FWIW: Buster Olney is calling Houston the WC leader today: Who will win the NL Wild Card? Buster Olney: (11:31 AM ET ) Mike: I qualify this answer by saying that before the season, I had the Marlins. If I had to pick a team today, it would be the Astros, because of their 1-2-3 in the rotation and because of Lidge at the back end of the bullpen.
  11. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. That was STRIKE THEREE!!!!!!!!!!!! Call it!
  13. I guess we'd rather face Kearns, Dunn, a Aurilia with the bases loaded than Freel, Lopez, and Junior with them empty! Please, shoot me!
  14. Getting out the the inning tied would be a big plus here (but, I'll take a SO, DP...)
  15. I'm a bit nervous here with the bullpen in for 4 innings. It's been too long since our bullpen lost a lead, hasn't it? (Was it the 4th Atlanta game vs. Smoltz?)
  16. Nah, that was hit right to the pitcher, he probably would've been out. I think they're talking about the double by Burnitz... from what it sounds like it was hard to know whether the ball would drop in or not. If so, you can't fault the baserunner for holding. I'll give 'em that one. It did look like Junior had a shot at it, and Barrett didn't see it kick as far from the OF as it did. That said, the 3B coach should be making that call...perhaps he hasn't yet learned that 2nd and 3rd no outs (for the Cubs) doesn't mean you'll get the run in anyway!
  17. He would have been dead at home.
  18. Griffey pulled another 'I look like I'm gonna catch the ball' It bounced off his glove Their OF is lazy BP just had an update today on how bad the Reds defense is... they've got a chance for a new 30 year low.
  19. And there were the 2 ground outs he needed 4 pitches earlier... Let's get some more runs!
  20. Todd... I take it ALL back! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. No first pitch pop fly, please.
