While this doesn't apply to 2013, I think Wainwright is a FA after next season. He'll command big bucks and may price himself out of St. Louis. Maybe save some bucks for next offseason.

Not important, but. . . Assuming we re-sign Kerry Wood, one uni should say "T WOOD" on the back and Kerry's should just say "WOOD." Merry Christmas!

Because of the way last night's game ended, it looks like Philly might need a first baseman next year. A one-year or two-year deal for Carlos Pena would seem to work. And if I were him, wouldn't it be better to play for a real contender than for a team like the Cubs, rebuilding on the fly? Of course, after Prince leaves Milwaukee, they'll be interested in him, as well. I'm not sure we should pursue Pena anyway, but if we were interested, this just makes it more costly. Bryan LaHair anyone?
