They hit at least 3 balls today off kluber and miller that would've been home runs yesterday and they could get it out of the inflield against some phucking scrub who gave up more home runs that 99% of the league. Yeah that irritated me. Prior to last night's game, USSoccer was taking heat for thinking that the wind blowing out would negatively affect the approach of our young hitters. I didn't think it would, but watching the game and looking at the percentage of swings they took at pitches outside of the zone, I think that's exactly what happened. Being beaten outright I can accept, but giving away a game you should win by abandoning the approach that brought you success all year is just infuriating. Kinda the story of the series - we aren't playing the same game. We're not approaching at bats the same and we're not playing shut-down defense; every error gets magnified in Oct, but we pretty much imploded tonight.
